Best puerh cake to get you real tea drunk?

So I am looking for suggestions on the best puerh cake to really get you tea drunk on the cheap. The haiwan peerless ripe was, what I thought,good in getting you tea drunk until I tried a sample of the 2005 naka from white2tea. Anyone care to share their stories on which puerh cake got you the most tea drunk on the cheap. I just can’t bring myself to pay $320 on a single cake.

I have the 2005 Naka. I experienced a similar, but milder, effect with the 2007 Bamboo Naka Qiao Mu from Chawangshop.com. This tea is $9.80 for 100g. Just keep in mind with tea, very often you get what you pay for. You might want to check out 2015 Bosch from white2tea. It is less expensive than the Naka. I haven’t tried it but others who have confirmed a tea high. Then there is 2015 Last Thoughts which is narcotic. Get a sample of that before they are gone.

I’ll definitely look into that one. It’s a great price regardless if it does get one tea drunk.

LBZ from Yunnan Sourcing is a good choice too. I have the Bosch upcoming this week to drink.

Definitely checking the lbz out. Let me know how the Bosch goes. I have spent that on a single cake before so it’s not out of the question. Would like to see what you think first. Or maybe I’ll just a sample next time I order.

Whites older teas are always good. They were mentioned above but the Bosch, I can’t wait too lon. Trying to steep out the vacation stuff first. Took some of the best I had to drink then. Some still going.

I have pondered what gets one tea drunk and it is a mystery to me. I have had a cake get me tea drunk on one occasion and then nothing on the next. I have drank teas others call stoner teas and felt nothing.

Try the 2007 third grade ripe that you sent me. It’s from Pure Puer Tea and I certainly felt ‘great’ after drinking it :)

I have drank that one on many occasions and never got tea drunk from it. Although I do feel great after drinking it in a fashion, just not tea drunk.

White2tea’s “If you’re reading this, it’s 2 late…” got me pretty darn tea drunk. Check out my note for what I mean. I think the 2012 GFZ orb did too.

Pu’er that has gotten me crazy also seems to not effect others. I think there’s lots to do with how fast you drink it and caffeine tolerance.

Bana Tea’s 2005 Ginseng Scent Ripe Pu’erh pretty much took me to another dimension.

It’s the first pu’erh that I have given a 100 to. I plan to find more to add to the list though :)

Obviously a bit late to the conversation, but a ripe puer that gave you that effect? I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to that level with a shou. I guess I may have to give this one an order sometime soon.

I’m not even sure what is classified as “tea drunk”. I’ve gotten some good energy off of some shengs but it was all different type of energies.

+1 – I haven’t had much puerh, but I definitely have never felt tea drunk. Soothed and calmed, yes, but drunk or buzzed? Nope.

I think the calmness is how many perceive it. I like the calmness and perspective I get from the ceremony. I do think much of it gives the energy as well.

Hmm… Sometimes when I drink tea, and everything else is quiet, I feel like my mind gets more centred. Like all the discordant, jangling thoughts inside my head telescope into each other and go to sleep for a bit.

Is that tea drunk?

Not really. But that calming sensation is one I’ve experienced with multiple teas, not just pu’erhs. Interesting.

I get tea drunk pretty often. When others try they don’t have the same reaction. W2t If you read this … my recent try. Glad I tried it at night time.
Midas Touch made me laugh like crazy. Fell asleep pretty soon.
2002 Ancient Spirit YS was very powerful. I was aware of my breathing. Fell asleep after 5 steeps. I feel like I have a weird reaction. There is no shou or sheng that make my energized. 95% I’m tea drunk.
Btw Naka fr Chawangshop was powerful too. I had like a hangover the next morning.
