Clay teapot repair?

So… one of the little clay (probably not yixing) pots I bought on vacation has a crack that I’m just now noticing. I thought previously when the side of the pot was wet that it was me being clumsy and spilling water when filling it. Tonight I know I didn’t spill any and a little stream of water trickled out till the level got below the crack. :(

Any suggestions for mending or is that even possible?

I did some looking around and it seems that you can use JB-Weld to do repairs and it is food safe after it dries. I’m going to give that a shot. And the pot was only $30 so if it isn’t repairable it’s not a huge loss. Except that it is cool. And it can still be a cool looking piece of art. :)

well that’s good at least. let us know how it goes :)

TBH those “cheap” kintsugi kits are just epoxy glue and gold coloured paint/powder.
