Travel tea mugs

I’m looking to buy a new travel mug, but I haven’t seen either of them in person, so I thought I would ask your opinions. Currently looking at the aladdin tumbler and the curve travel mug both sold at Davids tea.

I have not used either but if you type Aladdin into the search box, there are several reviews of it.

I use a Timolino Tazza mug and I love it!

I have the Aladdin’s mug which is okay. The steeper basket is kind of small so I don’t think it’s good for teas that require more room to steep (larger leaves, etc). It’s double walled so the outside stays cool, but from my experience it doesn’t keep your tea hot for a very long time.

I have the Carry Travel Mug (looks like a similar design to the Curve Travel Mug). It’s leak-proof, has a nice infuser basket and most importantly, keeps your tea HOT for hours.

I’m a big fan of the Flying Tea Gourd, I have reviewed several different ones here:

I use the curve travel mug, and love it very much. Here’s why:

It is 100% leak-proof
-It is slim and fits nicely into my hands (I’m a woman with small-ish hands and the slim design feels good to hold)
-It has a deep steeping basket which is wonderful for steeping on the go, although I don’t always use it.
-The mesh drinking lid is a dream to drink from-to me, it feels most similar to drinking from an actual cup, and you can drink from anywhere on the lid, and not have to line up any sip holes with your mouth.
-It does keep tea piping hot for hours and hours.

When I am worried about smell retention, I soak the lid and silicone under-side in hot water with a denture tablet and that takes care of that.

I have a 16oz timolino (unfortunately they only sell in 12oz now…)and I really like it. It’s leak proof, fits well into my hands, has a little compartment to store tea in, is made of metal so it won’t shatter, and keeps the tea hot for HOURS.

I have had a lot of bad luck with travel mugs but my timolino has lasted 2 years and still going strong

I think the “curve” travel mug might be the same as the timolino. I have the “wine” coloured one.

The Curve is slightly hourglass shaped.
