Vintage style handleless tea cups

My daughter wants some tea cups in the colonial or Victorian style, when they had no handle but were decorated in a more “English” fashion than you usually see on a gaiwan. She is hesitant to buy real antique ones on etsy or eBay because they often have lead glaze, and the crackled antique ones could be dangerous to use. She has one of the American Girl Felicity cups that came out long ago, but they sell too high on eBay to buy a set.

Does anyone have a good source? The girlier and foofier, the better.

If she isn’t concerned about having the saucer too, try looking at EBay under “Chinese restaurant cups.” There are a few on there, some as low as $10 a set.

Thanks, Cwyn! I searched eBay and found one that she is very interested in. She is really looking for something in a very English or Colonial American style. I bought her the Felicity tea cup when she was very young, for her and for her doll. I think the famille rose pattern and such will do nicely!

Oddly I used to run into Pleasant Rowland at the theatre in Madison.
