Matcha, the healthiest way to drink tea
When you drink Matcha ( powdered green tea ) you consume almost 10 times more anti-oxidants, vitamins, and minerals than a traditional cup of green tea such as Sencha or Tencha. Matcha is a nice alternative to regular tea drinking. Its thicker and Frothy. Its a completely different experience than drinking tea in the normal way. The color is simply amazing. A rich bright green that is just beautiful. The taste of high quality Matcha is unmistakable.
Maybe you can explain how Matcha is made? I have always wanted to know :)
Matcha is green powdered tea. It is uniquely Japanese and is the highest quality tea available in Japan. Usually Young Gyokuro or Tencha leaves. It is sold traditionally in a 30g tin. You will get about 20 cups from the tin. The traditional way to prepare Matcha is about a quarter tea spoon per cup. You can add more if desired. Water needs to be about 170-175 degrees. Not boiling! You can use a bamboo whisk to whisk the matcha in a bowl. Using a spoon will not work. Some people just throw it in a blender but thats not the traditional way lol..Im guilty of doing it that way sometimes. My name is dan by the way and im the owner of purematcha.com
I sometimes reach for my hand frother to whisk the matcha too, this does a decent job of it too. I have even used a fork, and it does blend the matcha adequately, although you don’t get the froth-y consistency that you do when you whisk it.
