Great Canadian Tea Box Round 5! Sign ups CLOSED

They say no strike before the 6th.

Okay since they can’t seem to make up their minds if they want to strike/lockout or not, I’m just going to go ahead and send out the teabox in the next couple days.

Any update of this box.

Any rough time frame of when the next round of signups will occur?

Hope you are all doing well.

Several years ago I started the Great Canadian Travelling Tea Box because no one wanted to send a travelling box to Canada because of shipping cost. We had 5 (mostly successful) rounds (with 6 boxes total).

However, I am at the point where I am not interested in organizing the GCTTB’s anymore. It is very hard to get people signed up, organize the order and then to have to track people down and the box seems to get lost or stalled all the time. This is no ones fault, I have just come to the end of my enthusiasm for it, so it is time for me to move on and hopefully pass the torch (AKA the box) onto someone else. I know I am not really selling the idea of taking over the position of curator of the box, but I want to provide full disclosure.

So what I would like to ask, if anyone wants to take over? Once the box 5.2 finishes up, we can have both of the boxes sent to the brave person who would like to take it over.

I am only willing to pass this on to a person who has previously participated, or someone that has a lot of history on steepster, and someone that also has good standing on steepster. If there happens to be more than one person interested, as a group we can decide what to do.

If no one wants to take this over, then there most likely won’t be future rounds for quite a while.

Thank you, Lala, for all your stress and efforts with this—and of course, getting the thing started and streamlined for the future too.

(Despite bits of time that I am out of commission due to chronic illness which most of you are already aware of) I am prepared to step up and give it a shot and see how it goes. It would be a shame for Canada not to have a GCTTB.

I’ve sent messages to Jillian and SirTurtle to see if there was a tracking number for the box. It appears to have been sent about a week and a half to two weeks ago but not arrived at its destination. Hopefully it is not lost.
