Help identify a Chinese mystery tea
Can anyone on the Steepster forums read Chinese? I received some mysterious tea as a gift and am trying to identify its source. The packet opens up into a golden monkey style tea.

first word of that center circle is golden the next looks like shock so maybe
“astounding golden ???” the last one I’m not so sure about maybe eyebrow? I’m not much help lol
It’s Jin Jun Mei (something like “golden beautiful eyebrow”). It’s a very elegant type of lapsang souchong, much much more expensive than regular lapsang souchong, and usually is not smoked. There are various grades of this tea but usually all grades are quite expensive. It’s a good gift. Whoever sent you this, must like you a lot! :-D

Any clues from the packaging on what company is the source of the tea?
It’s not from the company that invented this type of tea – their products can be easily sold for a few thousand $ a pound. But Jin Jun Mei from other companies is significantly more expensive than most black tea too. I see “Jing Dian” on the wrap, which means “classic”. It may or may not be the brand name, because it can be used to describe an upscale tea.
