I expect to spend about $1200 over the next year on tea. Sigh.

Honestly, though I could easily spend $2880 on just one type of tea, and I would still need other types.

Ive been very good this year, partly due to having not very much money & lots of tea to drink. I have just purchased my most expensive sheng though, so it managed to balance out a bit. Had to pay in instalments, but omg I love it.

Hi all, first post here!

Set myself a budget of £480 (£40/month) for the year for both tea and hot chocolate (not including teaware, although I’ll HAVE to get that in check next year). I can’t remember what all my spreadsheet figures were specifically at this point, but I do know I went from 86 to 153 kinds of tea this year. I’m running out of kitchen space.

Hilariously over-budget this month, but I’m still under for the year. Just about.
Year: £408.29 / 480
August:
£13.96 – On a visit to Chinatown
£42.25 – The Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee Co.
£55.81 – David’s Tea (shipped to a stateside friend who’s sending it on)
£31.00 – Adagio Teas
£51.41 – Basilur Teas

Oh boy oh buddy oh pal it’s sale season

£35.25 with Twinings (value £100.50)
£11.00 with Whittard (value £16.50)

Year: £454.54 / £480

Only £25.46 left for the year… going to have to limit myself just to replacing anything I finish… gonna be a long 4 months.

I haven’t done bad this year but tea alone my total is $373.94. Of course I’ve spent about 100.00 or more on fancy bone china tea cups and saucers.

I’ve probably spent about $200 this year, not bad. I’ve also had another $100 or so dollars of stuff gifted to me, and I have a trip to the Bahamas coming up where I know I’ll drop at least $50 on rum teas.

Rum teas! Tell us more, please.

I think I’ve spent about £150 in 3 months since getting into it, which is quite shocking. I don’t even have a high income, I just have really low overheads. Also I now spend virtually all the money I used to spend on wine/beer on tea instead. I love that what used to get me a cheap bottle of wine will get me 50g of nice tea, or 20g of pretty swanky tea.

I feel like I should ‘shut up shop’ for a bit, I’ve got plenty of different teas now, but it’s a bit “gotta taste ’em all!” The shops are such great places to go too, I had a lovely afternoon in Chinatown (London) earlier. Green tea swiss roll!
