I have not bought any tea yet this year I am finishing what I have in the cupboard. I think about 7 weeks to go and then I start from 0 loose tea.
Still thinking about what I will buy…

Ive been pretty skint as of recent, I bought my most expensive cake ever @150 euros but that I had to spread over 3 payments..

YS tea club, a lovely box of what-cha samples to try & some dong ding from Liquid Proust and thats been my recent expenditure, so not too bad really.

I am going to buy a vacuum sealer & some oxygen/moisture packs because ive noticed I dont enjoy some of my teas as much as when fresh so its defo a thing needs to be sorted.

I spent about $350 in 2014 and again in 2015. This year I tried to cut my spending due to the massive amount of tea in my collection (which is combined with my mother’s). So far this year (2016)….
January: $50 New Mexico Tea Company
January – June: $120 total on Tea Sparrow’s subscription box. By the way, this is a great box. I was subscribed to it for nearly 2 years and I only stopped it because I had a ton of tea that needed drinking.
September: $10 Old Barrel Tea Company
October: $52 Whispering Pines Tea Company

Total for 2016 so far is $232

For personal consumption, at least US$1,200 this year. Lots of that is pu erh for the long haul (both sheng and shu—shu matures very well with the right storage). I also started a tea business three months ago, so I average hundreds of dollars a week in tea purchases on that end!

I’ve burned more cash on tea than on anything else this year.
No regrets whatsoever.

I blew the budget I set for myself this year, spending $467 on tea and $370 in teaware. My budget was $350 and $200 for tea and teaware, respectively. But I also sold off some of my stash and unused teaware to offset my spending so my net tea expenditures were actually lower. Still I think I did pretty good considering my total spending was $259 less than last year.

With the recent Dammann Freres group buy and my Verdant order of autumn greens, I believe I can safely say I’m done buying tea for the rest of the year. Or at least I will force myself to hold off on any more tea purchases until January. Wish me luck.

Oh jeeze…probably about $500-800. There were a few trips overseas that I did not really account for either when I went on a few spending sprees within mountainsides.

I think I can trust myself not to buy any tea in the next 5 days, so my total for 2016 is $1320, or about 30% over my goal. I blame it all on Liquid Proust: he keeps putting together these amazing group buys that I just can’t resist. Of course there were also the big orders to YS and Chawang shop, and well, you get the idea.

I’ll stop : )
