The Right Tea Room

Dear Steepster Community Members,

As an avid tea consumer, whether in a Tea Room, on my patio, or in my closet (hiding from my children for 5 minutes peace), I value good customer service. Unfortunately, I have found few places that have the perfect combination of service to create a truly Tea-rific experience. My ideal environment for maximum tea-consuming relaxation involves the following: 1) Expertise. 2) Quality of the tea. 3) Last (but certainly not least) the environment. I have found locations here in the Bay Area that reflect one or two of these, but never have I found one with all three. My question is, why are all three so difficult to come by? Is it just a lack of preference, and therefore expertise, for tea over coffee in the Bay Area? I just do not understand why someone has not tapped into the escape that a truly great tea-drinking experience can provide.

To me, drinking a cup of tea is synonymous with snuggling up in a cozy blanket on your favorite chair next to a warm fire. This rarely is how I am able to enjoy my tea, but that is the image a solitary sip of Cinnamon and Orange Peel tea evokes. It makes me warm, and calm, both are qualities I think many others with hectic schedules would welcome in a blissful cup of tea. Perhaps I am just nostalgic for a by-gone era when a cup of tea was a respite from the dull-drum of life, or perhaps I am secretly English at heart. Either way, am I alone in my quest for the perfectly steeped, well-served, cup of tea in an environment of tranquility in the Bay Area?

Sincerely,
Mrs.Hottie_Pots
