Puerhshop Recommendations

I’m planning on ordering a couple of MGH 1206 bricks and some samples.

What are your favorites from Puerhshop? I’d love to try some more sheng with a little age, but recommendations for young sheng or shou are welcome too.

I enjoyed the 2005 Changtai Bulang and the 2007 Guoyan Yiwu Star. The 2007 Guoyan Yiwu Star is pretty good too.

I remember liking the 2010 Haiwan Ultimate Ripe but have not had it in a while. I believe they were out of it for a while and restocked. I think Yunnan Sourcing used to sell it under a different name, maybe Haiwan Peerless?

I also remember liking the 2006 Mengku Imperial

The Bada shou was nice. The Gouyan BuLang Star but only if you don’t mind some smoke in it.

Puerhshop is my go-to for a gut bomb. Once in awhile I just feel like it ordering stuff from there and air it forever. I think I have a couple of sheng tuos that I’ve been airing two years and haven’t tried. Then I got some shou from there six months ago, but it is mostly young stuff so won’t be trying for awhile. They usually stock a 7581 brick consistently which is usually a good shou drinker.

This thread reminded me Puerhshop is still one of my favorite vendors and I put in an order last night. They have excellent service. The only problem I had with them was I was sent a moldy puerh. To get a refund I had to go to the trouble of sending it back but they did pay for return shipping.

I like the Puerhshop. I recommend the 2007 Changtai Lingbao. Fruity, very little bitterness and no fermentation. Also the PS gives out samples (which resulted in 2 purchases) and PS does some pesticide testing. Although at first glance it doesn’t appear to be very extensive but a step in the right direction. For some reason YS never provided samples but I guess you can buy certain ones. YS does appear to be doing testing on 2013 and more so on 2014 Yunnan brand. Definitely a plus. I would love to see more pesticide testing and organic certification much like what Teavivre does but that is a whole different subject.

Yunnan Sourcing used to give out samples with every purchase but has lately stopped. I’m not sure if I got any samples with my last Puerhshop order either. I believe that Yunnan Sourcing has tested all of it’s brand products since 2013 or so. Puerhshop does testing but I don’t know if it is on all it’s teas.
