Prince Tribute Teas

My teen-age years were awkward and miserable. I was a misfit. One thing that helped me to feel more like I belonged in this life was the music of Prince – the albums Controversy, 1999 and Purple Rain were the soundtracks of my teenage years.

I was devastated when his death was announced – I felt as though part of me had died that day. Because of the impact this man and his art had on my life, I decided that I needed to create art that celebrated his life.

The first of these teas I’m releasing today – June 7 – his 58th birthday.

When Doves Cry is a white tea (a fluffy Bai Mu Dan) blended with apricots and vanilla bean, flavored with essence of apricot and vanilla, and sprinkled with crystallized (sugared) violet petals to create an “ocean of violets in bloom.”

I made a very limited quantity of this and will only be available while supplies last.

You can learn more about it here: http://52teas.com/prince-tribute-teas/

Thanks!

Edited to add: There is only one more of the taster size left on the website – more of this tea will be added to the website within 48 hours – I haven’t finished packaging all the tea yet and once I finish packaging and shipping out the current orders – I will have a better idea of how much I have available.

Thank you again for all your support!

This sounds delicious!

I’m kind of baffled by it, but I’ve also been affected by his death. The death of a celebrity had never impacted me before Prince. Still makes me sad when I realize he’s truly gone.

I can also relate to your teenage experience. ;)

Perhaps Princes death will bring awareness to the problem of prescription drug abuse. I don’t know if the powerful narcotics that killed him were prescribed or obtained illegally but it is a problem. I heard something about the narcotic he was on being more powerful than morphine. The tea does sound good.

There’s always more than one way of viewing things, that’s one of the many things that keeps life and people interesting. :)

I am hoping that his death will call attention to our medical system’s inadequacies in managing chronic pain.

I remember after an eye surgery I took vicodin doses too close together and I had the scary experience of my breathing impulse being suppressed. The pain was beyond anything I had ever experienced and the meds didn’t make a dent.

I can’t imagine dealing with chronic pain and not finding adequate relief. My dad was in pain every day for decades before he died and dulled it by having a generous drink every night. Shots, spinal blocks, pills, nothing was effective.

I hope I can avoid it myself.

Actually I agree with you that vicodin doesn’t do all that much for pain. After a serious back injury it was prescribed for me. It did very little. I did not experience breathing episodes from it. Which is good because I had undiagnosed asthma at the time.

It doesn’t matter to me how he died. What matters to me is that he lived and during his lifetime, he shared with the world an amazing talent – in my opinion he was a talent unlike the world has ever seen and may never see again.

So true! Music flowed through him, such an amazing talent. I’ve been watching so many videos of his performances recently and am so often left in awe.
