Matcha! Oh god, help.

I know my tea pretty well, but matcha is a blind spot for me. I thought I didn’t like it, until I found I enjoyed a lot of food made with it, and learned that heresy or not, this was one green tea I preferred with milk and sugar.

So I have two questions: What non-flavored matcha powder do you recommend for serving with milk and using in baking? The one I bought is somehow way more bland than the matcha I’ve enjoyed out. I do have access to a good Japanese grocery store but neither speak nor read Japanese.

Second, can anyone recommend any relatively easy matcha-flavored baking recipes that you’ve made and enjoyed?

If your adding milk and sugar probably no need to buy ceremonial grade. Amazon has a lot of cheap matchca.

Any cheap matcha or culinary grade. I use my cheap, not good matcha for baking or smoothies, it hides all the matcha’s issues. I find buying online is much cheaper for matcha than grocery store (plus less likely the matcha has been sitting on the shelf for years), see link above for some suggestions.
