Red Blossom's Tung Ting, Mi Xiang

I just had Red Blossom’s Tung Ting, Mi Xiang — apparently a new arrival for them — and I think I’m in love. It smelled and tasted like some sort of new baking spice I’d never had before. Right up my alley.

Does anyone have thoughts on Tung Ting, in general, or other particularly good Tung Tings?

Thanks – Mr. Waffles

While I haven’t tried Red Blossom’s version of this I got some of the same tea from Taiwan Tea Craft a year or two ago and liked it a lot. RB doesn’t mention if the tea was roasted or not. Most of the Dong Ding’s found have been lightly roasted, some heavily. Nothing wrong with this, I buy and drink them regularly. But my all time favorite Dong Ding is from Floating Leaves. Shiuwen has an unroasted version she calls Fragrant Dong Ding. This really let’s the flavor of the Dong Ding area varieties shine. An excellent, reasonably priced every day drinker.

I just put in an order yesterday at Taiwan Tea Craft, so thanks for the tip on that! I also placed a pretty big order at J-Tea. Now I have to check out the others you’ve mentioned.

I’ve been bitten by the Tung Ting bug I think.

I remember buying some Tung Ting from Tea Trekker. It has been a long while since I had it but I remember it being very good. Tea Trekker sources some excellent tea.

I don’t know if they still sell it but I bought a competition grade Tung Ting oolong from Berylleb King Tea on EBay a couple of years ago. I think it was second place Tung Ting.

Liquid prousts 2012 that he has is lovely. Iirc it’s the one he uses in the bamboo container

It’s fruity and lovely. Isn’t a big roast though.
