Tea With Basil

I have some fresh basil. What kind of tea should I add basil to?

I find it works really well with white teas that already has an earthy, herby taste. Something like mai pu tan which is floral but earthy.

Gentle Giant by Yumchaa is a great example of how herby flavours combine well : http://www.tastethetea.co.uk/2016/02/13/review-gentle-giant/

Oh thank you :) I have a little Bai Mu Dan left in the cupboard.

Basil compliments citrus really well too, so if you have any flavored blends lying around with strong orange or lemon notes you could try adding it to those blends as well :)

These days I always keep lemon or lime around to compliment my tea, sometimes. Maybe basil would work too.

I’ve infused black tea with fresh basil and strawberries. That was pretty tasty. Just make sure you take the strawberries out because they lose their color after a while and start to look really gross, lol.
