Anyone belong to a tea meetup (or other tea-releated club or group)?

I belong to a Tea group in NC that gets together to learn about tea and try new ones. If you want to find (or start) on in your area take a look at http://tea.meetup.com/

(I saw someone on the recent activity stream had mentioned belonging to a tea club, but it was gone before I could click it, so I thought I’d share here. I have no stake in promoting meetup, just enjoy being a member!)

You have to be a paying member to start one so I’ll just wait patiently as there are none currently in my area.

Hi Lauren! I see you’ve joined :) The Triad Tea Lovers used to meet in Greensboro but we followed the tea shop owners to Lexington when they opened a new tea house. We have a lot of fun doing tastings, swaps, cooking/baking with tea, and learning about tea culture. I think we may be trying some blending sometime in 2010. Can’t wait to meet you!

In the new year we are hoping to have a get together at a local tea house with tea classes, social, who knows…this is at its infancy but I hope we can get it going.

I just started a Meetup group here in the Las Vegas/Nevada area. It’s awesome. Glad to hear they are popping up everywhere. We talk books, movies…and, of course, tea!
