Blending disasters

While attempting some alchemy this morning, I discovered that lemongrass and dark Zimbabwe black just don’t play well together. Any other home-blending attempts that we should all just avoid so as not to waste good tea?

While I can’t tell others to avoid it since everyone’s tastes are so different- I discovered that I think matcha in coconut water is NASTY… and I thought everything was better w/ matcha lol. 2TB of lime juice made it substantially better though!

Was it the coconut itself that didn’t go with the matcha or the fact that it was coconut water? What about a small amount of coconut milk mixed in with prepared matcha, just for flavor? I’ve never tried adding other flavors to match, so I don’t know what would work best.

I’m not sure, it was UNBELIEVABLY sweet inspite of it not being sweetened which I couldn’t figure out. I actually need to drink coconut water for health reasons and since I hate coconut I decided to add matcha to it as an attempt to save it… so the coconut milk idea won’t work for me.

Decaf Vanilla and Blood Orange. Ick!

When I first started into tea and was looking for decaf dessert blends, I had all my single flavors in tiny tins so I ould mix to my hearts content from kind of a little kit. The above was the only true disaster, and the only time I dumped the cup and spat the tea out!

LOL, it sounds pretty bad! I personally would have liked a chocolate instead of vanilla (it could have been a little better…. maybe?) :)

What brand was the Blood Orange?

It was Adagio….I like thier Blood Orange on its own just fine. I was thinking kind of like a creamsicle flavor, but the Blood Orange is too tart. It nearly curdled the creaminess of the vanilla!

Really? It actually tastes like orange? That shocks me.

Um…….. I had in fact not tasted the Blood Orange first before blending (yes, my biggest mistake.)

I am most disappointed in Adagio’s fruit teas. There’s so much other “stuff” that it doesn’t taste like the name implies.
