Sorry for being late this year everyone. Also I’m looking for a helper to choose who’s in, because I haven’t been as active, I don’t know who else has been active.
Secret Pumpkin 2016 – Sign ups open!
Hello all! This thread is for Secret Pumpkin 2016!
The concept is basically like Secret Santa, but in the Fall! We had alot of interest on the old thread so I thought I’d revive it. Sign ups will be open through October 13th! You should ship by Oct 22!
Last year we had no international participants, but let me know during sign ups if you’re international, hopefully we can pair you with others that are willing to do international as well.
Last year we implemented a Minimum spend amount like for Secret Santa. Once we get the thread going we can discuss how much everyone wants it to be, but I was thinking $10, not including shipping costs. I know that alot of people will also be pulling from their personal stashes for this though, hence the need for discussion.

SECRET PUMPKIN is here!!! This is a fun little fall treat – especially when we’re waiting on pins and needles for those black friday sales.
The goal of secret pumpkin is to make your pumpkin feel special. Please send your pumpkin a minimum of 3-5 teas (at least enough for 2 16oz cups each), depending on the type of tea this could be between 2-3 oz total. You can send them fall related teas and/or look in their wish list for ideas.
Also, send your pumpkin something special – this could be tea related, fall related or both!
RULES
I will take sign ups until October 13 (we will mail them out by October 20), but please note that it is not just first come first served. I reserve the right to check activity levels on the site, not to be a tea snob, but because there is a history (even a recent history) of new people signing up, getting excited, and then they disappear. So that all people involved get to benefit from their participation, I want to make sure that the people on the list have at least some history of being active on here, and/or “swap cred” in the sticky post, and/or prior participation in a box.

Your recipient Pumpkin is likely not going to be your Secret pumpkin. ;) I know that that sounds weird, but work with me here….

If I were to do this I would want to buy tea from my local tea store and they don’t sell sample sizes so I would probably have to send 50g of one tea instead of 3 to 5 samples.
If you wish to send 50g of one tea, that’s fine! The variety requirement can be easily met by doing stash samples, which was the original idea, I think, and so if your recipient doesn’t like one tea, they have at least two more they might enjoy.
The rules are minimum guidelines designed not to be too much a financial burden on anyone and still have the personality of a themed tea swap. But in past years I’ve seen people buy tea or pull from their personal stash to share, whichever is great as long as you have fun doing it!
I don’t think the time frame works for me this year. If we had until a later date to ship I might consider it. I am not likely to have time to go to my local tea shop or David’s Tea to buy any teas in the next few days. And giving samples from my tea stash is not really an option as I was forced to put most of my tea in storage.
Count me in too. I did it last year and it was a lot of fun :-)
I will be glad to join in,but please whoever I get please I request of you to send teas that are ones I really like and not dislike.
I would like to participate. I am in Canada, but am willing to ship to another country if any other international people wish to join.
