Small Quantities of Tea; Reasonable Shipping to Canada?

My SO’s birthday is coming up and I’ve been inspired by all the tea subscription boxes out there. I’ve decided I’m going to make him his own monthly tea boxes for the next year.

He likes Davids Tea, so I’m going to get him some of that. I’ve also found a seller on Etsy that has good reviews, reasonable prices and novelty flavors like “Maple Bacon” and “Butter Beer” tea, which I think he’d enjoy. But I’d like to introduce him to some new brands as well.

What I’m looking for now are some samplers. I’ve already come across Verdant Tea’s 5 for $5 deal, which I will for sure be getting. I’m also considering Zen Tea – $1-$2 per sample plus $6 shipping per order. I live in Canada, so ordering online can be tricky because of high shipping costs. If anyone can recommend some sellers I would appreciate it!

Forgive me for tooting my own horn here, but we sell small quantities of uniquely flavored teas. My shipping is as reasonable as it can be as shipping to Canada starts at $9.03 USD for a 1 ounce package – and I charge $9 flat rate for Canadian shipping (all orders over $75 ship for free). http://52teas.com/

We also have subscriptions – FIVE unique teas every month!

Citizen Tea is in Canada and have samples sizes of all their teas as well as sample bundles. Shipping is 8.00 for under 50.00 or free over. They also have a 5.00 off your first order if you sign up for their news letter. https://www.citizentea.com/

Tealyra is also Canadian and sells in small quantities of most of their teas. 10% off if sign up for newsletter (they also have sales often if you watch) approx 8.50 shipping (depending on where you live) under 60.00 free over 60.00 https://www.tealyra.ca/loose-tea-ca/?gclid=CKfL7v6aiNECFcq2wAodXhMFAQ

Those are my two favorite in Canada.

If you are looking at exploring straight teas (you did mention the Verdant 5 for 5.00 – which I recommend) you might want to look at Teavivre. They are in China but have quick epacket shipping for 4.90 under 40.00 or free over 40.00. All prices are USD
They sell small samples of most of their teas and have quite a few sampler packages. I like them for China teas.

Give Citizen Tea a try.

https://www.citizentea.com/

They sell 5 cup samples, are located in Canada and shipping is $8, if you spend over $50 shipping is free.

Love all these ideas. Here is another possibility.

I would suggest getting him an annual subscription to two Canadian subscription boxes: either Amoda or Tea Sparrow. Both are great. Amoda’s samples are tiny, but then, you get free shipping if you order larger sizes of the ones you like. Tea Sparrow’s samples are sizeable, but if you want to order more of any teas, you are on your own.

You will find many Chinese companies have reasonable shipping to Canada. It is actually cheaper to have a 357g tea cake shipped from China to Canada than from America to Canada. And E Packet shipping is generally under 10 days. Most companies on EBay or Aliexpress, as well as Teavivre and others now use E Packet for orders under 2 kg of weight.

Tea Taxi is very similar to DAVIDsTea and offers samples as well as free shipping at $50. They also have a fair priced monthly subscription offer.
