The temptation w/ this isn’t tea (although their matcha is amazing) it’s teaware.

My local tea co. has Rishi Taiwanese Clay Teapots on sale for $5.50 so I’m gonna buy one Monday.

What tea christened the tea pot? How was it?

Grrr! I got there (went there for that reason only of course) and they only had 1 four oz pot left. And it wasn’t even one they advertised on Facebook. They had a $10 pot on sale for $5 that I wanted to look at. I typically drink 6oz cups of tea (except for Japanese greens now that I’m learning more about them) so until I do more research as to the authentic preparaton of Taiwanese teas (who knows, they may be like Japanese greens in that they all have their own individual leaf amount, water amount, water temp, and steep time) I’m going to hold of on getting one that’s smaller than 6oz. Whatever volume Taiwanese teas are typically served in I want to get one that holds 2 servings anyway.

I caved! I just placed another Rishi order. Yay! I’ve got Ancient Yellow Buds, a box of Matcha and a box of their Blueberry Red Iced Tea on the way. The 25% discount is pretty sweet!!!

The 25% is pretty nice, if only it was that + free shipping! It sucks when the shipping cost is 1/3 of the total =/

I caved! My mom will offically shoot me. I wasn’t going to buy anything from Rishi til I saw that they included a recipe w/ the Kukicha today. That rationalized my coupboard space and the coupon (and the sale) rationalized my credit card. While I do have to pay shipping, The tea itself was much cheaper than buying it from my tea shop (who’s sold out anyway). It’s $5.75/oz there! That helped me rationalize buying it now, vs. later too;)

Ok, so I hadn’t offically caved til now. And I’m really mad! The shipping was 164.8% of the cost of the Kukicha!!! And what’s even worse is that I live a flippin hr and a half away from where they’re located! And the really sad thing is that it’s still a few pennies cheaper than if I would have gone to my local tea shop if it’d been in stock… This is my 1st order, how is their shipping for more expensive or heavier items?

That’s my issue with Rishi. The shipping cost was 33% of my total purchase. That means the 25% off didn’t really do much other than lessen the shipping blow. From now on I’ll just buy my Rishi from Whole Foods, the price were comparable / cheaper. I’m curious about one thing though. Rishi’s 1/4lb of tea, is that the same as the small tins?

My shipping wasn’t bad… the order was $80, so I got $20 off and shipping was $10 (so I paid $70). I ordered tea and teaware, so it was a pretty large box, and I live on the East Coast.
