That is a relatively good thing for someone who doesn’t yet know how to brew gongfu style. It looks at first glance to be good information in general. You might want to add a tea to water ratio guide by type of tea. I personally use 7 or 8g of leaf for sheng in my 150ml gaiwan but I use 9 or 10g for shou in the same size gaiwan.

Thanks for the feedback AllanK! That will be actually the next Infographic that I wanted to do for the Blog. With steeping times and amount of tea leaves.

I noticed so far that the more tea one drinks over the years, the more and more leaf one uses. Have you noticed something similar from your tea-journey?

After a fashion yes. I do use more leaf now when I gongfu brew. When I western brew the amount has remained constant though, three perfect teaspoons of tea for a 16oz teapot or mug.

Looks good and informative. My feedback would be the brew time. You have 10-20 seconds. I would say that it should be 5-120 seconds (yup 2 minutes) on certain teas at mid/late-teen steeps.

On certain teas at certain temps the brews should be flash brews, water in / water out…. as fast as possible. You mention steeping up to 20 times (which is certainly possible) but steeps would not be 20 seconds at this stage.

Maybe you could say “steep time 5-20 seconds for the first few steeps and extend the time by 5-10 seconds with each subsequent steep. Each tea is different so experiment with time”

You’re absolutely right! I changed it to 5-20 seconds and added that steeping time should be increased with every infusion at the bottom. Thanks for the feedback!
