Strange Teapots...

Every now and then, while browsing the different websites, I’ve come across some teapots that just strike me as bizarre. I was wondering what you’ve found out there…

Here are three that I’ve seen recently that crack me up.

No words for this one, other than to point out the unfortunate placement of the spout. http://stores.capitalteas.com/-strse-287/Fat-Buddha/Detail.bok

Yes, the tea comes out of the swan’s rear end. http://stores.capitalteas.com/-strse-292/Black-Swan-Set/Detail.bok

Perhaps a bit too feminine? http://www.americantearoom.com/volumptuous-yi-xing-clay-teapot.html

I’ve gotta say, I think the swan one is beautiful. That’s weird? : )

I think it’s beautiful, too, except that the tea pours from its rear end. That’s what made me laugh.

I was thinking of starting a breast cancer support group at our church. I think you just found the perfect teapot for our meetings! :D

This is so very similar, but actually seems to be a more detailed teapot. I almost like it!

It must be especially great with Tie Guan Yin or any unfermented oolongs for authentic shade experience ;)

Octopus teapots! I love them all! Especially the little purple one, and the first one shown…

I love weird cups, like one with faces or silly figures.

Or any fan of The Smiths will love this one..

Great thread! Love the octopi, although I must admit I thought it would have 8 spouts! (something along the lines of this one: http://www.theteaenthusiastsscrapbook.com/.a/6a01348543f894970c014e6002e53b970c-pi)

there are at least 3 recent entries on unique and beautiful teapots, from the recent exhibit at the Morris Museum, and the blogger’s personal collection, on this blog: http://www.theteaenthusiastsscrapbook.com/the-tea-enthusiasts-scra/
(not sure if the blogger is on Steepster, can’t remember how I found her site!)

Also this Tea Time Pottery exhibit in Sanford, NC is on for another week but I’m not going to be able to make it: http://www.ncpotterycenter.com/exhibitions1.htm

there are a few pics of some of the teapots here, about halfway down:
