Official Steepster Tea of the Month Club - Would you be interested?
UPDATE: We’ve re-launched Steepster Select as a Tea of the Month Club using our new service Memberly! Get the details and sign up here: http://member.ly/steepster-select
As part of a project we’re working on, we wanted to try running a monthly tea subscription to see what the process is like and what challenges/details arose.
We don’t yet have finalized details, but it would probably be a monthly shipment of samples or small packs of tea from a variety of tea companies, and we’d charge on a monthly subscription basis.
Are you interested? If so, are there any specifics that would make or break the deal for you? Any and all thoughts are welcome, plus just letting us know you’d like to participate.
This sounds incredible. If it were reasonably priced I would be all over it.
What sort of price range seems reasonable to you? And how much tea would you expect/want for the price?
I agree with people below; $10-15 would be perfect and encourage people to join in. That seems affordable even on a student budget. Hopefully shipping rates wouldn’t be prohibitive to those outside the US. There’s a lot of tea I never get around to trying because shipping from the US to Canada can be ridiculous and this could be a great way to try them. I also agree with what has been mentioned about sizeable samples. I like to try as many teas as possible, but like to have a few cups of each to get a feel for them. Probably a few samples around 12 g would suit me.
My husband and I were talking about what a good idea that would be the other day. I’ve seen other ones online but they’re very expensive. I don’t know if I’d be willing to pay more than say, 10$/month + S&H… although it depends on how much tea you would get a month, I think that would be reasonable for one tea per month but if it was a decent sized variety pack I think I would pay as much as 20$/month… It really all depends on the cost haha, we’re budget people. It’s a really cool idea though, would love to hear details as they develop.
Definitely! I would be more inclined to sign up if the price were lower than $20/month. $10 would be even better.
I like the idea of products from different companies in one subscription! =D Would it be tea only? Tea related things (like tea candy) would be great to get some months instead of tea.
I would be interested, given the possibility to give personal limitations, like “no black tea for me” or “not interested in japanese”. Maybe it would be easier to make a couple of subscription-types, one for everything, some more spesific…
Of course, first probably a crude, no-choices version for practical reasons.
I agree John. I’d like as many offerings as possible to be organic and/or Fair Trade. Not just a separate organic subscription.
It would be interesting, especially if these are sample sizes. There’s nothing worse than investing in a whole tin of tea that I know I’ll never open again. I wouldn’t mind trying samples of a variety of teas. It would be fun to try things that I ordinarily wouldn’t. I’d be willing to spend up to $25/month.
I would definitely be interested. I feel like $15-$20 would maybe be a good price…depending on how many samples. Or, you could have different subscription prices based on how much tea someone wants. Maybe doing a theme each month (ex. by region) as well…and people could have the ability to opt in or out for that month? Just some thoughts…
i would like to have a variety of samples and be willing to pay between $10 – $20 a month. I think it would be fun to have a totally surprise experience monthly.
I’d be interested, $10-$20 a month for enough tea to make 20+ cups a month. If it takes off maybe add different subscriptions; green, black, herbal, flavored, etc.
I’d be interested. FYI I ran a siimilar concept, the Canadian Fibre Box club, and people loved it. It was a lot of work, but fibre companies liked being able to share samples to a wide audience and customers loved getting a mystery box each month. You canalways pm me for more insight!
