thanks for all the suggestions everyone. unfortunately radiance was closed until wednesday and I just left today. It sounded like a great place, but I did make it to a couple other places..

One place in the steepster places listings(luh yuh tea emporium) i went to is no longer a tea store as the owners moved to taiwan. I found a yixing pot in chinatown at Ten Ren, though I had a better experience at Fang gourmet teas in flushing where i was able to pick out any tea and before i bought it do a tasting for a small flat rate. the woman prepared it in a gaiwan and we went through five steepings. It was a nice small place with a good amount of asian style teawares. i’ll likely go back next time in the city.
