What Drives You To Drink?

What drives someone to drink tea
What an awesome question!

For me, it’s simple. It’s the break and opportunity to enjoy a ritual.
When I’m stuck at work, it’s my favorite tiny cup ( my office is usually an ice box ) wrappedd up in my hands full of steaming hot deliciousness, to sip on and ignore the lack of sanity around me.
At home, it’s my favorite tea kettle, filled with a water I distill just for tea, and then the careful brewing and pouring that follow.
ritual can be wonderful, hooray for tea and it’s timely creation and consumption.

I find that when I’m having a stressful day at work, I look forward to making my way to the break room, heating a mug of water and dropping a bag. A nice smooth black Ceylon seems to make everything slow down a bit. No matter how rough the day, I can always count on a cup of tea to improve my disposition. The first few sips are great but the brew strengthens as it steeps and by the time the mug is about half empty, the tea cools a little and I really start to appreciate the flavor. As an uncultured clod who has always preferred spicy foods and strong flavors, I’m finding that my taste buds are becoming at least a bit more refined. It’s a nice little ritual anyway.

I drink tea because it satisfied my taste buds with the diversity of it’s fragrance/taste. I love the relaxing gong fu cha ceremony too.

For me, I drink tea because I love its taste and flavor, but not for the healthy problems. When the first time I drank it, I know I completely addicted in tea. And now, it plays a very important role in my life. Whenever I met some troubles, or feeling stress, having a cup of tea, it always make me feel very relaxed and make me calm down.

I’ve always enjoyed a cup of tea here and there and mostly drank plain green teas. What got me hooked were a few different things
- I started researching about the health benefits of green tea and decided to start drinking it more to help my skin and overall health.
- A DavidsTea opened up in the mall I work at and became a regular spot to stop instead of Starbucks. I became hooked on trying all sorts of different kinds I never even thought existed.
- I haven’t been much into alcohol for the past few months because its been causing me stomach pains, so in the evenings when my boyfriend enjoys a beer or two in front of the TV I choose the healthier alternative, tea!

In a world where sodas are getting larger, meals are getting larger and more extravagant, fastfood drive-thrus, instant coffee, grits, and oatmeals, 6-bladed 30 second shaves……. I am fortunate to have a wonderful moment to drink a simple, warm, slow, relaxing, delicious, and exotic cup of tea. Tea is to drinks as weekends are to workweeks.

Recently I switched to working from home so I have the luxury of redefining tea breaks as a literally time for tea. It helps me refocus and gives my eyes a break from the screen.
Usually I take oolong in the morning and pu-erh in the afternoon.

Oh god. Mixing tea with some venting? I’m in.
What drives me to drink? Symphonic Band!
I’m a junior in high school, right? And I’m in the band at my school and a;ldksfaldkjfsdf. I’m working on being the drum major for next year, thats what I REALLY want. I’m currently a section leader, in honors band (constant constant assignments) and just. I have the largest section of the entire band and oh man. Then with constant rehearsals (including the drum line i’m in..headache?). I just need something to relax and de stress! my director-as great as he is, drives me absolutely bonkers.
So, when I get home, I snag a book and make a nice pot of Chai tea, or Vanilla Caramel, and stress just melts awayyy.
Plus, its really healthy :] and the doctor cut me off of caffiene for a good bit, so green teas and white teas became my best friends.
