Evaporated milk vs Sweetened condensed milk vs creamer

If you take milk in your tea, what do you prefer to use? Evaporated milk, creamer, sweetened condensed milk, regular milk, or something else? Why do you use what you use and what kind of tea do you put it in? I like most of my hot teas with creamer and honey, but I wanted to try evaporated milk because I thought it might be better than creamer. I have tried sweetened condensed milk but I find it’s too sweet for me unless I brew my tea stronger perhaps. What do you like?

I use heavy table cream when adding to tea. Gives it a creamy taste that is not so sweet. I only use it with some flavored teas or black tea bags. I use it to keep the carb count down. It has fewer carbs than other dairy products.

That’s so interesting- I’ve never heard of table cream- is it sweetened? I had to look up what it was like.

It is not sweetened. It is about the same thing as heavy whipping cream. It is used in Mexican cooking.

I make matcha lattes with regular milk and a pinch of raw sugar if it needs it. I know it’s trendy and probably healthier to use almond or soy milk, but it makes the tea taste chalky.

I prefer sugar over other sweeteners like honey and maple syrup because it enhances the tea’s own sweetness without changing its flavor.

I don’t like almond or soy or coconut in any of my teas- I don’t think it does anything to it lol. I also love matcha lattes! So yummy with cream and our local alfalfa honey. Super yums. I like honey because I like the fact that it’s not as high glycemic and I think it enhances the fruits, malt, and cocoa notes within the teas I drink

I use 1% milk in my tea along with sugar.

I’ve been using evaporated milk in my tea for awhile now. It has a nuttier flavor and slightly heavier consistency that I enjoy. I also like that I never run out of milk for my tea since I always keep a can or two in my pantry. I put it in unflavored black teas, as well as some flavored blacks – not all flavors go well with milk. I have been known to use whole milk, half and half and even almond or oat milk depending on the tea and circumstances, but evaporated milk is my usual. I don’t use sweetener.
