This is so sad… I didn’t receive the last batch and it doesn’t look like I will be getting this one either. I will have to work on not getting my hopes up. So disappointed I haven’t been able to try any. :(

I hate to raise your hopes, but I have not gotten mine yet. I did get the last one later than most. It could still be on the way…even though the past experience makes it look otherwise.

Hi there!
Please remember that we ship these samples out for free.
So we don’t add tracing number on it as it will cost us extra money. We are just trying to keep the cost down.

Thank you

Oh I understand and appreciate that you are even doing this. I am upset with the postal service and it’s lack of ability to do the one and only job they have. By no means am I blaming this on you. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Truly, I am just sad I won’t be able to try them that is all.

I got mine today.

I don’t have much experience with puerh and want to brew it in optimal conditions. Any tips?

Suggest to try with 7-8gram tea in 100ml teapot or gaiwan, don’t realy suggest to try with Zisha(Clay) teapot because it will affect the taste. use 90c temp water to brew the tea, pour water in very gently and slowly from the edge of the gaiwan to brew the tea. Each brewing progress should take around 30 second from pouring water in to gaiwan/teapot till into the teacup.
it’s always a good idea to have the tea in a quiet place and write down your thoughts when drinking.

Hi Jerry,

Thanks again for the samples… I was wondering if it’s possible to brew the puerh in a western-style method (like, in my 12oz cup) or whether I’ll need to be picking up a gaiwan before I get into these samples! :)

Dinosara, I am having great fun and much success one cup at a time. May not be the proper or traditional approach but it works.

What steeping parameters are you using KS? How much leaf? Glad to hear you’re having a great time with them!

I am using about 2 grams of leaf (a hefty spoonful – or about 1/5 of the sample). Water temp same as for green (below boiling). Use enough water to cover the leaf. Swish around for 10 seconds or so, then pour off. The next cup is for drinking. I steep for 30 seconds. Seriously, this long enough with these teas. Some people go as little as 10 seconds. I think that is too weak. Experiment and have fun. After several steeps you will need to increase the steep time.

Dinosara, if u are brewing the tea in different style, just make sure that you brew the rest the same way as well so u can compare it fairly.
Thanks

I got my samples earlier this week =)
I haven’t had a ton of time to try all of them, since the only time I have access to 195F water is first thing in the morning before work, and I don’t want the caffeine of puerh tea in the evening when I get back.
I REALLY should have asked for suggested brewing temp/times before trying mine =P I have had ripe puerh tea before, which does not get astringent even when I steep it for hours. RAW PUERH IS CLEARLY DIFFERENT! I thought I could just do my same-ole morning routine of throwing some puerh in my tea tumbler and letting it steep all the way to work. Additionally, I used boiling water, as with ripe puerh. Wow. SUPER BITTER. Super astringent. The sad part was, it smelled delicious and some of the taste was amazing. I just did not steep it anywhere near the recommended time. I can’t wait to do it right! I’ll have a chance tomorrow =)

Got my samples the other day. I had never tried puerh before, from the one I tried so far, I am loving it!

BTW Thanks Jerry

I am saddened by the fact that I have not tried these teas yet. I have been sick, and could not taste much of anything. But the taste is starting to come back! Yeah. Soon I will experience what y’all have been talking about!
