A question to all tea lovers …

I started drinking tea in a quest to relax more. Tea is my ME time. I love the way the warm cup feels in my hand as I sip. And I found out that I really like brewing tea in a teapot.

It allows me to slow down and enjoy something, even if ever so briefly. It’s hard to fret and sip at the same time.

Personal preference. Caffeine content (though I do enjoy a cup of decaf every once in a while). Taste. I just like tea. Also, Sue Kolve’s in Onalaska serves water, coffee and you guessed it, HOT TEA! FINALLY I CAN DRINK TEA BEFORE MY HAIRCUT!

It’s healthier than booze.

But not necessarily as much fun, that’s why you combine them, the heath benefits from the one and the fun from the other. If only I could get my doc to see it my way. :)

Life should be enjoyed like fine tea, one cup at a time:)

For relaxation. It seems “slower” to me than coffee does, even though with a french press, coffee is actually more work for me (I also have a breville tea maker). Tea is just more mentally quieting, I suppose. I notice what I’m drinking, instead of knocking it back. The variety of teas available excites me, and really makes me consider what I’m likely to enjoy, thus making the selection of tea a more “in the moment” activity. I like to look at them, smell them, and read descriptions (when looking and smelling aren’t possible), so it becomes a multisensory experience. I guess tea just hits all my pleasure buttons.

It feels like a little treat each day without the cost or calories of frou frou coffee drinks from Starbucks and the like. Plus it’s easier on my stomach and has more variety! Finally, it gets me to drink more liquid. In fact, it seems all I’ve been drinking lately is tea at work and milk with dessert at night.

I second this! It’s nice to truly enjoy drinking tea and know that it’s not bad for me. It sweetens the entire experience.

All these comments affirms my belief as to why I started The Leaf Method. Drinking tea is almost like a spiritual experience, no? :)

It never ceases to amaze me how many different teas are out there. I love buying new teas that I’ve never tried (or heard of) before. It keeps me going through the work day, knowing that I can get home and brew a cup of tea and come to this lovely site to blog about it! Even if I don’t like the tea, I still got to explore something new and that discovery is fun for me. The concise answer: I love drinking tea because it’s always an adventure! What’s in my cup today?
