Can’t recall seeing this discussed here. I just read this and found it interesting: http://englishtea.us/2011/11/02/some-like-it-hot/
I never drink anything really hot because I find it uncomfortable and besides I think tea has more flavor as it cools. I usually start warm and end at room trmperature. What is your drinking temp?
By the time the tea is done steeping it’s the perfect temperature. I usually drink green or oolong and I use a lower than advised temperature to start with. Yeah. I like it hot but not too hot. I agree that the flavors seem to become stronger as it cools. Maybe because I can actually let it sit on my tongue without burning. Honestly though, I like tea at any temperature but hot is the best.
Hot tea is best, can’t imagine it any other way. Tea was meant to be boiled and steeped longer in mine mind of heart.
I like my tea just warm, no hot tea for me and I drink white teas pretty close to room temperature.
Just right below the point where it burns my tongue. I like taking in a sip of hot tea and then breathing in. It gives me a really nice warming sensation in my chest.
Hot is best! I agree that the warm tingly sensation is part of the “complete tea experience” for me. Unless I mean for it to be iced or refrigerated of course… : )
I like some black teas with milk and adding a drop of milk usually makes the tea “just right” temp for me. When drinking tea without adding milk, I let the tea cool down a bit. I agree with Mercuryhime that tea flavour is somehow stronger when the tea cools down a bit.
If I drink it too hot it burns my taste buds for a few days and everythi g loses it’s flavor (including my tea) :(
My husband can’t drink anything hot. But I drink everything hot, including tea and even water. Sometimes in the restaurant I would ask the water to microwave my water and make sure it’s “well done” :-D
