According to the USPS, the Tea Box was delivered yesterday to the next person in line.

It is here! I am home not feeling well today, so I am resisting going through the box (oh my goodness… that’s a challenge!)… If I’m back on my feet tomorrow I’ll take care of it and get it on its way!

Lena, what number are you?

Small
LENA said 2010-03-25 09:11:02 -0400

I didn’t receive a number. Angrboda’s email just said that laurenpressley would be my sender. I’m sending the box to Carolyn in Memphis, but I haven’t seen her on Steepster in a month or 2. :(

Cofftea said 2010-03-25 11:20:44 -0400

Neither have I… I’m a little concerned…

Small
AmazonV said 2010-03-25 11:56:36 -0400

i never got a number, i got a sender and receiver – and figured it out myself from there.

Lena – don’t be too worried, i hasn’t seen my recipient online in a month or two when i sent the box, she was just busy and the box was a great come back reminder for a busy busy lady.

Cofftea said 2010-03-25 11:58:44 -0400

Numbers can be requested from Angrboda if interested.

Cofftea said 2010-03-25 12:46:44 -0400

I guess I’ll be completely surprised then if people don’t post what number we’re on… I was never told the person sending it to me…

Small
Angrboda said 2010-03-25 14:51:38 -0400

Yes, you were. The name and email of your sender is included in the same email containing the info for the person you are sending to. All the emails were completely identical apart from people’s names and addresses.

Lena, Carolyn’s last post is indeed a month old, but she might still be out and about lurking. If she hasn’t checked in before it’s your turn to send it might be a good idea to try to get in email contact with her before sending it out.

Ok now I feel like a total idiot- that one sentence got lost in the email. Do you wanna know how many times I checked that email to make sure it wasn’t there? At least 5 lol!

Okay, feeling healthy and germ free, I took/added/and mailed this morning! The TTB is on it’s way!!

I took several pictures, including the page where I listed what I took/added, so I’ll add that information to this discussion board once it’s up and on Flickr!

BTW, Angrboda, you’re awesome! The system is great and I love that you included the notebook. :)

Doulton said 2010-03-25 15:29:29 -0400

I would just say (and I hope it’s not too obvious) that before I sent on the box I made certain that the recipient was on Steepster quite recently. Otherwise, I would have made sure to get an email reassurance that the person is still “in”.

I have been involved in a similar kind of situation—a knitting project called Travelling Scarves where a scarf is passed around via the mail and everyone knits on it a bit and then it gets passed along to the next person. The results can be exceptionally lovely but we’ve also had a number of scarves simply disappear.
I bring this up as an analogy simply because, like the Travelling Tea Box, it can take months from start to finish. Along the line you never know if people have died, gone demented, become a rogue or a fugitive from justice, or are simply greedy or too tangled up in their yarn to knit.

I hope I don’t sound as if I am casting aspersions on anyone—and certainly not anyone here—but the Travelling Scarves disappeared at the homes of some of the most seemingly dedicated knitters.

Thank you Doulton, that was well put. :)

That’s always the risk with things like this I suppose.

It’s worth suggesting that people try and get in touch with the next person on their list to make sure they’re still interested before mailing off the box.

Is it a full moon tonight? I don’t want to turn into a rogue psychic vampire!!!!

Hi everybody!

There has been some small concern about a few people not having bene active on the site recently. I have sent an email to the remaining people who doesn’t appear to have been active on the site in the last month or more. I have asked them if they are still interested and to please answer back asap.

Hopefully we will hear from all of them. :)

Thank you for doing this:)
I can’t wait until it is my turn!

Angrboda said 2010-03-28 02:22:21 -0400

I have as of this morning (Goodmorning all) heard from all the people I emailed last night. There was one person who decided it would be best for them to drop out, but everybody else are still in.
If anybody should be worried about the whereabouts of their sender or recipient, just let me know.

…..I am lurking….so busy I have not had the opportunity to make any comments or tastings but I have been checking in…

Small
Angrboda said 2010-03-27 18:54:18 -0400

Yes, I decided that since I had seen you around here, I didn’t think it was necessary to check in by email also. But I did have one person who decided to drop out, so now you’ll get it one person earlier. :)

chana said 2010-03-28 01:58:28 -0400

lol….I’ve also been lurking. Since I’m the last on the list (well, last before it heads back to Angrboda) I’ve just been waiting patiently – and sometimes not so patiently – as the box meanders its way along, and enjoying the pictures! But I’m here…..

Small
Angrboda said 2010-03-28 02:20:26 -0400

Hee, yeah, your last post wasn’t a month+ old, so I decided I wouldn’t have to email you yet. :) Now I won’t have to do it later either. Thanks for checking in. :)

I came home from work to a big box of tea by my front door! Yay! I honestly didn’t have too much time to go through everything…it’s kind of overwhelming. LOL! I should have time tonight to make my picks and put in some new teas. Next stop is IL.

LENA said 2010-04-02 15:12:06 -0400

TTB is off to Janni in IL. I can’t wait to start trying my picks.

TTB just arrived! It smells unbelievably good! I don’t know that I’ll get through it all tonight, but I’ll definitely tackle it tomorrow and have it off on its way later this week.

SO EXCITED. I can’t wait to try some of these. Even before I opened the box, all I wanted to do was eat it…XD

Small
Janni said 2010-04-05 18:36:18 -0400

Uh, not to worry, anyone. I didn’t and won’t try to eat the box. Just so we’re clear. ;)

Small
AmazonV said 2010-04-05 22:11:46 -0400

well after being exposed to that much tea the box might be delicious! ;)

Janni said 2010-04-06 10:26:02 -0400

Tea: Steepster TTB Custom Blend
Water temp: Boiling
Steep time: 3 min 30 sec

Fruity and mysterious, and with a slight hint of corrugated cardboard and frustrated postal worker who wishes it was time to go home already, this blend really delivers. The finish tastes of waxed bacon, so it’s a bit like when you cook bacon in the oven on parchment paper and forget to take off the paper before serving it.
