Travelling Teabox on the way! - Round 1

Just keep your eyes peeled for threads here and emails/announcements from steepster. But FYI we’re 4 months in its travels and not quite half way done so it will be quite a while til the next one.

Let’s start another one!

As I said… we still have 1/2 of the route to go on this one.

I don’t see any reason why there has to be only one TTB at any time, Cofftea. There’s certainly nothing wrong with wanting one to come around more than once every 8 months. And as more people join Steepster, there’s even more reason to consider another one. Angrboda will always be sacrosanct as the originator of the concept here, but briantthill’s idea is a good one.

I do believe it’s been passed over to to steepster to organize now and I thought it was mentioned that they were/should wait til this one finishes. I also think that’s good idea because that allows people to participate more often. Shipping boxes can be expensive.

The Steepster Overlords have taken over the project. I’m just seeing this round to the finish. After that it’s up to them. I don’t know what their plans are for the future, but there has been talk about making it a site feature. I don’t know when this might happen or when a new round will be started up, so you’ll have to get in touch with them about it.

Anything wrong with members doing their own traveling box???

I don’t know. I was just told they would take over the project, so I suggest you ask them.

While I do appreciate that the Steepster Overlords are going to make the TTB a future feature of Steepster, I agree with Doulton and brianthill. I see no reason why we can’t start another TTB. I don’t really see that this is any different than the swaps, a TTB is just preset who will participate.

I’d be in if we started another one. I joined too late for the original, but I’ve been watching this Discussion hungrily, watching the TTB’s progress and waiting to get in on the next! I didn’t realize it had so far yet to go :(

As I posted… somewhere in this thread lol… I will actually be out of town the 23rd-25th… I will notify my grandfather so it’s not sitting outside all weekend if I don’t get it before I leave.

I still hope I get it before I leave myself, but if you want I can hold it for you. What day will you return?

I get back on 5/3. So sometime after that should be ok. MY GF can bring the package into my place while I’m gone, I just obviously won’t be able to go through and send it out until I’m back.

I’ll send it out on the 30th. That way it should get there about the same time you do:)

since i’ve seen them as cheap as 8$ i think it might help those who don’t have cameras show off the box to everyone

I’d rather not add more weight to shipping. Pictures are cool, but really… I can live without having pictures of every stop.

If we use those general shipping boxes the weight should only be a factor in the shipping costs outside the US. Out of curiosity, how much do those tiny key chains weigh?

SOMEONE has to ship it outside the US.

But it doesn’t have to be you. I say we wait til we get that far and let those people make the decision.

You mean the current one? It’s currently stationed in WI and will be mailed to me on Saturday marking the halfway point. I need to hold it til the 30th before sending it to Steepster Jason in Minneapolis.

I just found out this morning it was forgotten in my mom’s car for a couple days. She didn’t mail it til yesterday. It should be in his hands by Monday I’m hoping.

Where oh where has the TTB landed? I am in tea agony over it being sooooo close to me, yet so far away at the same time:)

Jillian, I haven’t heard back from Angrboda via email (and if she replied here I missed it)… I’m concerned your sender may have given her his premove address. I can’t exactly remember when he moved. So I hope it gets to him, and thus you the rest of the list. I definitely wouldn’t call him my friend either lol.

PeteG- It still must be enroute to MN (Steepster Jason) as I haven’t heard anything from him.

Cofftea, if it becomes a problem getting a hold of him we might have to consider skipping him.

Cofftea, that issue has been sorted and we have the correct address. I must have forgotten to notify you as well when I told his sender and receiver. Sorry for the unnecessary worry.

Not yet. I’ll post here when I do. Funny thing though, I’m actually traveling back home this weekend, which happens to be about 2 mins away from the person I’m supposed to send it to. So if I get the TTB before I leave on Thursday, I’m just going to take it on the plane and deliver in person! No worries about shipping costs or it getting lost then :)
