Recommendations for Mugs?

I broke yet another glass mug. sigh Fortunately while I was washing it, so the mess was contained.

What I’m looking for:

1. Prefer clear glass or other clear substance so as to see the color of the tea inside. Otherwise, white interior.

2. At least 14 oz capacity, which is what my little Teavana teamaker makes in one go.

3. Would prefer double walled, but not strictly necessary.

4. Would prefer unbreakable, but realize this is probably not possible.

5. Not overly expensive would be good.

Heck, at this point I’m wondering if I need a kid’s sippy cup. Since I can’t seem to stop breaking things.

Your thoughts and recs please?

I don’t know if you have a Starbucks nearby, but, I noticed the other day when I was in Safeway (which has a Starbucks in-store) that they had these cute glass mugs with a small package of joy tea inside it, all ready for gift giving. It was only $10, but… I don’t think it’s double walled. I don’t need a mug, so that is what kept me from buying it … but I tend to find myself attracted to “shiny” things like that. Basically… if it’s a gift kit or basket type of thing, and it has tea in it, I really want it. Really don’t need it, but want it just the same.

Here are some options. They are a bit smaller than your old one, but they are fairly affordable.
This one (second one down) is a 10 oz clear mug with infuser and lid

Also, the clay mug and infuser at the bottom is good too, but not clear glass.

There are also glass travel mugs. These are double walled with a snap in strainer.

Hope this helps. Unfortunately, none of the above are indestructible : )
Good luck!

I’ve been pretty happy with the konitz mug. It has a white interior and a capacity of 13oz. It’s not unbreakable but durable. I’ve seen it as low as $9 for a set of two on Amazon. I would hesitate on double walled mugs. I had a set of 4 Bodum double walled mugs. They are extremely fragile. Even though I’ve handled them with care, I broke 3 and I’m down to my last one. It comes in pink dots as well.

I just bought a ForLife mug in white (15 oz., infuser, mug and lid). It was $15 at Wegmans if you have one close. (I was near Baltimore at the time…..)

Tea forte has some nice Mugs with an infuser available online or chapters. They are double walled and there are colors to choose from with white interiors.

I went with a davidstea perfect mug I got the blue one with white interior it also brings an infuser. It’s not double walled but does have a lid which can help keep the tea warm.

I think the tea forte mug is a better choice but I wanted a quality infuser and the mug was lacking in that respect but otherwise a great mug at only $20. I like the double wall feature but it has no handle.

I was lucky enough to score a Primula Tea mug through Amazon’s vine program, and even though I don’t have much use for the Tea Bag Buddy, it is well designed and has become my mug of choice when I am working. http://amzn.to/v86FGm
The mug is double walled borosilicate glass and holds a whopping 16 ounces…

I found some plastic mugs on Amazon and ordered them, but UPS screwed up and delivered them somewhere else in Atlanta. Whoever they delivered to signed for the delivery, so I’m not going to be getting that delivery. I bought 2 at $9 each, so there’s $18 down the drain. Amazon and UPS have this infinite loop as far as making claims — Amazon says to go to the UPS website, but UPS requires you to have an account number to post a claim for lost goods, then tells you to call their 1 800 number which has no claims option and no way to speak to a human. I’ll try again and hope I get a delivery driver this time who can read an address.

I haven’t been able to sit down and enjoy any tea lately with the holidays and all, hoping to do so today. Got my shipment from Upton tea, so I have plenty of Golden Monkey and Baker Street Blend to sooth my frazzled soul.
