Who uses a thermos / tumbler !

I was having trouble like this, but the solution I came up with was to wake up 20 min earlier so that I can drink at home, and then making an at-work setup (tea-for-one pot, hot pot, wee thermometer). I know – the convoluted, not-a-solution!! ;)

Hey, sometimes we have to make sacrifices for good tea. ;)

Haha, but the whole point is so I could carry around a cup and enjoy it later in the day. I mean sometimes I drink it hours later.

I use a Stanley thermos and it works wonders. The cap/cup and the stopper are plastic, but they never seem to hold any flavor, the rest is all metal.

Just read a detailed review of the Tea Thermal tumbler by Copco here:
http://englishtea.us/2010/01/28/tea-thermal-from-copco/

Looks like you can steep in the basket and then close it off to stop steeping. Cool!

I am glad you like these. The great thing about these insulated mugs are. They are lined with the same clay that the Yixing purple clay teapots are made from. They are two pieces (if you count the screw top lid.) I at the moment I carry 8 styles of this mug. Everyone that uses them Loves them. These are great for the tea lover.

They’re lined w/ clay? So they retain flavor? Nice.

Yes they are lined with clay, the same clay used in Yixing teapot. And do retain flavor just like a normal Yixing teapot. They are very cool. I love them.

Can you please tell me the diameter of the bottom? I need to make sure it’ll fit in my bottle holder w/o falling out.

Not a problem. from what I remember they are not an abnormal large size but when I get in the office tomorrow I will measure them for you an will let you know tomorrow.

Awesome, thanks.

Here are your measurements. All of the mugs with no handels are the same. Black, Pink, Orange, Brown, Gold and also the black and stainless are 2.75 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall. The two with handels are diffrent the stainless one with handel is 3 inches wide and 5.75 inches tall and the other one black and stainless is 3 inches wide and 6 inches tall. They all are lined with clay.

Just purchased this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LNIVLY/ref=ox_ya_os_product
but haven’t received it yet. It’s a double wall glass tumbler — I hope it works as promised!

Umm that actually looks really nice. Let us know how it goes =]

I just received my tumbler – yay! It took EIGHT (yes, 8 days!) to get here after I placed my order — I think the northeast’s snow storms have a lot to answer for in terms of delivery delays!

But I received it and am looking at it and am in love with it. It is a double-walled glass tumbler, but here is the thing, it feels very durable and heavy in the hands, not flimsy at all which was a huge worry since it is made of glass. But then again, that’s why I ordered it, to get away from all that plastic. Anyway, it stands about 7 and 1/4 " tall and has a diameter of 3". I worried because all my surfaces here at home are either glass, wood, granite or corian but I am not worried any longer because I think this tumbler can take it. It feels substantial in the hand, not like some of the other thin double-walled glassware I saw while browsing in stores. The only downside is that the lid, though some unstated metal outside, is plastic inside. However, this lid is not an entity that you drink from, you have to physically remove the lid to drink, and you drink out of the sides of the tumbler which has glass that is about 1/8" thick. Oh, here is the other thing, I would only feel comfortable filling it with 16oz of liquid. I know, this thing did say 18 oz but I don’t know how they got that number because I can only fit, at a maximum comfortably, 16 oz and may even only fit 14-15 oz for my own purposes. I just received it so I don’t know about their spill-proof claim but for now, I am very happy with this product. There isn’t any infuser with it, I plan to use my own finum brewing basket (infuser). Oh, another thing, the sides aren’t notched in any way (it’s just clear clear glass), it is very smooth, so if you have carpal tunnel syndrome or other hand issues or maybe you just have beautiful dainty hands, it may pose a problem. There – my first review of a physical non-tea product. Hope it helps. Did I forget anything?

Horrors – just tried the finum brewing basket (infuser) – large, with this tumbler and it doesn’t fit! The infuser diameter is too large – I wonder if the smaller one will fit?

I really love this tumbler from Teas Etc.: http://www.teasetc.com/details.asp?prodid=19001&cat=19.

The strainer is built in and not removable so the tea leaves stay in but I’m not a stickler for brewing times and temps—I just throw the leaves in there, add hot water and go!

I use it all the time, it’s great for me.

I just ordered one of those! The plastic does not bother me and it seems to be decently insulated. Most importantly, no leaks! I think this tumbler and I will be good friends.

Here is one from Klean canteen. BPA safe also. I have been using their products for since they came out with water containers:

I brew my tea at home and then transfer to a stanley thermos that I have pre-warmed with left over hot water from the tea kettle. I don’t let the tea get hight enough to touch the plastic stopper. I bring a double walled ceramic mug to work with me (they have them at target for $10) and drink it out of that. The mug has a silicon lid that keep it from spilling and doesn’t absorb any flavor. I soak the thermos and mug in baking soda to keep down any flavor transfer.
