Would be a great tool to use in swapping or people that are getting the TTB.:)

It picked one of my new favs DFT Dragonwell. I’ll have that this evening. I have another cup of white tea steeping now.

Heehee, I’m happy everyone is enjoying this!

chrine, he’s definitely a keeper. He always supports my rotating obsessions with a bemused grin.

Ricky, he’s not on Steepster logging tea because although he likes tea, he’s not a tea fiend like me. Which makes the fact that he created this little randomizer all the sweeter! He loves tinkering around with programming and such (information systems major), and spent an entire day perfecting this.

Does it have an algorhythm that takes your rating of the tea into consideration? Like others have reported, it actually picked my favorite teas when I tried it.

Hi everyone,

I’m teaplz’s bf :) I appreciate the feedback and I’m glad that everyone likes it. Any comments or suggestions are more than welcome. Like teaplz said, I do like tea, but I haven’t had enough of to begin logging. I guess it would be a nice goal to have in 2010: drink more tea and log it!

Carolyn – there is no algorithm behind the randomizer; it takes your entire cupboard into account before a tea is selected. I will take a look into it, though.

I don’t understand “I haven’t had enough to begin logging”… you’ve had at least one cup in your life, right? Then start logging:)

I’m glad there isn’t an algorithm, cuz then it wouldn’t be a randomizer!;)

Well, I was originally going to say relay my thanks, but it seems that’s not necessary if you’re here =]

Like cofftea said, I swear I recall some of teaplz’s notes that go, my boyfriend thought it X and I thought Y

I agree Ricky! And even if a person has only drank one type of tea or even one cup of tea, they should proudly log it!

Unfortunately my schedule is quite hectic, but I’ll do my best to log all the tea that I drink. If not, I’ll have teaplz do it for me. :P

No worries though, I won’t be leaving the Steepster community. With any luck, I’ll put together some more mini web applications for everyone to use.

You’re welcome! :)

I just graduated with my bachelors in information systems and economics May ‘09. He’s a brave soul dual-majoring but it’s a great idea especially nowadays; you do something that’ll bring the bacon home, while also studying something you enjoy.

Wow, this pretty neat! Perfect for those indecisive moments! He should turn this into an iPhone app.

Thanks for the feedback! I will try to “mobilize” the site for the iPhone/Blackberry crowd on Steepster. Perhaps I’ll just the optimize the site for the smaller screens as I know the iPhone can place shortcuts on the home screen.

I don’t use internet on my phone, but it’d be great to get texts when someone comments on or likes my tasting notes.
