Advice for new teapot?

Some wonderful family members went in together and bought me a small enameled tetsubin for xmas. The enamel is flaking (sigh). So this is getting returned and I’ll find another teapot. I’ll have a dedicated yixing for oolong, so this other pot will be for a rainbow of different teas.

I’ve narrowed it down (I think) to either a Bee House or a ForLife. Does anyone have any advice for me or experience with either of these?

Bee House- http://www.amazon.com/Bee-House-Matte-Blue-Teapot/dp/B0000CFRH4/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1325653115&sr=1-6

ForLife- http://www.amazon.com/FORLIFE-WholeLeaf-18-Ounce-Teapot-Infuser/dp/B003Z3JS66

PS. There should really be a poll option when making a topic.

I don’t have any experience with ForLife teapots, but my ForLife infuser + glass mug is wonderful. So at the very least I think the ForLife teapot comes with a sweet infuser.

Thanks! Because of this I’m now leaning towards the Forlife “Stump”!

I love my Wabi sabi tea pot from Samovar. It has an infuser built in and is very easy to clean. Rishi sells the same pot for $17. They just call it Tsuki Teapot. The same pot just cheaper. I can not image what I did before it.

I actually love that pot. I’m delirious right now, so will decide tomorrow. The pot does look a bit small, and though I was planning on buying around a 12oz pot… is it really 12oz? Thanks.

I think that it is around 12oz. My old tea kettle had a marker at 16o and when I filled up the tea pot it looked like there was maybe 3oz to 4oz left. I would say that I do have 3 tea pots. One that holds 24oz and one that holds 32oz. They are collecting dust. When I first saw the wabi sabi pot I thought that it was really really little. I think now it is the perfect size for me. But thats me….:)

I love ForLife products. I have a large 45 oz. Curve teapot (in my avatar), a smaller 24 oz teapot that I use daily, and a 15 oz. tall tea mug in white that I use more for tasting (purchased in that order over about a year). They keep me coming back when I am in search of new equipment. Great quality stuff, and the infuser is really pretty awesome. And dishwasher safe!

When shopping for my teapot I could not find if the lid on the Beehouse easily came off for cleaning, or the possible quick warm up in the microwave(I really have only done this a few times, but it is good to have the option of no metal once the infuser is out…)

I have a similar Bee House teapot to the one you linked to – I think its the same thing different color. I love it.

SimplyJenW- The Lid comes right off so once the infuser is out you can be metal free.

Good luck with whatever you choose! I hope it brings you much tea enjoyment.

Well, the Bee Life one isn’t in stock. So if you wanted one now, the For Life is your choice. I never thought I’d find that shade of green attractive, but I must admit, when I opened the page, my first thought was “I must have that particular teapot!” I think it might be the combination of the color and the spout. Too cute.

I love it also!!!!! I was thinking…how can I add another teapot to the collection without anyone noticing?

I have a forlife teapot and it is adorable and works great – the included infuser is top notch

I only hear great things about the infuser… which is the main reason I went with ForLife. Thanks! :)

Thanks for everyone’s help. I went to the retailer to check out the Bee House pots, and though they were nice, I didn’t like certain things about them- the lids felt sloppy, the infusers were really generic…etc. I’m sure they’re really practical though. I ended up getting the green ForLife that I had linked in my post- hopefully it won’t suck! ;)

I’ll do a full review on a blog with proper photography, comparisons…etc. I’ll link it here whenever I complete it.

Sweet! Looking forward to it now.
I might just get it because I love that green color.

Ever considered getting a glass pot? Especially if you brew green tea, looking at the teas unfurl is quite an experience in itself.

I’m actually a massive fan of pyrex. However, I need my tea to stay hot for a while.

Ah, I see. The ceramic one looks like a better bet of the two.

So did you like the forlife? I have a black one, and I like the no-drip spout.
