Flavored Pu erh

So, we are getting ready to created a Pu erh blend and I was wondering what you guys think would go well with pu erh.

I’m leaning a bit more towards a spiced blend or maybe a chocolate of some sort rather than a really fruity one. I’m just not sure that fruity and earthy Pu erh are a good mix.

What do you guys think?

Have to admit I’ve only tasted one Pu erh, and it was blended with black and green teas, too, but spiced sounds good to me :)

I’ve only had 2 pu erhs. One, an unflavored, was VILE… but the chocolate pu erh was absolutely amazing!!! I also want to try Golden Moon’s Pu Erh chai, so how about a chocolate chai pu erh? And please make sure it has chili in it:) preferably w/o licorice or fennel.

Copy your Mayan Chocolate Chai exactly, only switching out the black tea base for pu erh. Yummm… I’d so buy a pound of that!

Chocolate sounds good. I’ve had an orange flower one from Camelia World teas, which was very good, so it odes work with fruit.

I’ve heard the Blood Orange one from Rishi is good, so how about a blood orange chocolate? Or chocolate mint?

I’ve heard mint Pu erh is very good so how about a mint chocolate pu erh? Something like ‘After Eight’s’ mints dark and rich.

FYI: Not sure if you get After Eight’s in the US but they are Thin Mints. Dark chocolate outer with a nice gooey mint centre.

I recently ordered a collection of flavored pu erh on ebay and there’s quite an assortment. I’ve not received them yet, but I’ll let you all know how they taste.
Here’s a pic with the assortment.

DAVIDsTEA has a coffee pu erh that is really great. It combines coffee bean extracts, chocolate and caramel and it is delicious! Hazelnut would be great also.

The Korean tea shop I go to has a ginger pu-erh – I was skeptical at first, but when the employee made it for me, I was sold. I think they put some citrus in it as well. In any case, a great morning tea.
