Ok so at a yard sale I found this empty spice rack with all empty glass jars so I got it for $3 took it home washed it and tada! Now it’s full of loose tea that Friends on steepster have given me and it keeps them fresh!!! I got colors dots at a scrapbooinf area and wrote the names and colored them to David’s teas colors but with no black I did white for black tea!
It looks beautiful and I don’t want to dampen your enthusiasm, but I thought that tea was supposed to be stored in opaque containers, so light doesn’t get to it. Is that inaccurate?
I didnt know that but this room is pretty dark no SUN! And I don’t expect them to last long hahaha! Why i have the dots Taped on so its easy turn around :)
I keep my teas in mason jars in a big cupboard and they don’t get direct sunlight or anything. I haven’t had any problems. It looks like the way they are placed in the rack that they aren’t really exposed to a lot of sun. Since they’re also in a dark room, and you drink them frequently, I think they’ll be fine. I think it’s a really cute way to keep your tea!
oh your phone go into the instagram go to your profile and then click on the you want to get the url for then there is a … click that and it will ask which one you would like

I wonder if painting the jars an opague color(s) would help? and it also depends on where the light sources are located to0.
I buy canning jars, both pints and quarts; glue the lids to the rings and paint the outsides of the jars with a couple coats of black acrylic. Airtight, light-proof and inexpensive. Labels are attached to the lids.
Can I just say that I absolutely love seeing the pictures of the “stashes”? It’s really interesting and some of you look as if you could open shops right from your homes! I love seeing how you store them all and the love you put into it.
This is my try pile, excluding my Della Terra order which came this morning
This is my “tea counter” I still have the whole cupboard, once its organized I’ll post a picture
ha ha i think obsessed would be my cupboard! i started out just like you with a basket and….. we will say the rest is history!
The basket is merely my teas I still have to try. The second pic is my tea counter. I’ve got about another 50-60 in the cupboard.
i should have done a basket but They are all in a teas dresser and i have to just sift threw and figure out what i have not tried lol
Yea I had to figure something out for all the samples and swaps I have gotten. They were everywhere, counter, cupboard, bags, boxes. And then I received 4 swap packages in one day. Disorganized nightmare.
Okay I totally have to share now!!
Here’s my stash (beside two shoeboxes full of samples and a huge order from Tropical Tea Co. that I have to keep in the closet lol!)
Notice that Red Leaf Tea has it’s own matcha shelf hehe =)
I like those white tins with the black stencil designs on them, very nice. Did you do them yourself?
No I didn’t do that myself but I wish I was more crafty like that. I bought the tins at Ikea. Thanks for all the compliments I love having it all next to my kettle it’s very convenient.
I have those same tins! They work great and are pretty. My tea is all stored in a cabinet though and does not look so nifty.
I love seeing all the pictures and ideas! I now feel the need to share… Here is my stash that is currently taking over my kitchen!
Nice! The only problem I’m seeing is that your overflow drawer isn’t actually overflowing! :)
Thanks everyone! :) Good thing I have an obsession with tea or that desk would be useless.
I love the tea desk and recently got rid of a similar unit! Dang! Tonight I had the thought of moving my tea prep area into my living room. It would have been perfect.
Thanks! I’m happy that desk is finally getting used. I love displaying all of my tea stuff. You should have! I don’t have much of a living room so the gigantic kitchen is where everything stays.
Please don’t laugh, these are some shots of MY corner of the house, my tea area, this is where I sit and have Tea, It’s just a spare room with my “Tea-desks” put in a corner to make my tea drinking area, there is also room for Lance to have Tea and Coffee in here too. This is my Comfort Zone lol. Yes you can prolly see my secret pack of smokes in there, anyways I hope you like my pics :)
Love the pics! Hey it may be just a corner but its about as much room as I have dedicated for tea! Mine is just more spread out lol I think having a corner would be lovely and peaceful! :)
Everyone should have a Comfort Zone, and yours definitely looks like it fits the bill. My husband and I are currently looking for a new house, and I’ll now have “Comfort Zone” in mind — tea desk and all! Thanks for sharing these, Tommy.
I just recently got into the loose teas, so my stash isn’t nearly as nice as some. But I do have a lot of teas. There are a lot of bagged teas stashed in behind the Davids Teas.
Well it looks like a nice stash nonetheless! :) Thank you so much for sharing and it will be so cool to see how your stash grows and changes over time! :)
That’s so crazy – it looks almost exactly like my tea stash before I moved! I even had that French Vanilla from Lipton! Awesome :D
My new Gaiwan and Ru Kiln Cup I got from Verdant Tea with reward points:
So you were the one who got the ru kiln cup! I was wondering who got it! It’s pretty and looks good with the new gaiwan. I hope it does you good. As for the rewards points, I’m trying to get the private reserves samples. I’m wondering what he’ll put up next?
Yup that was me :) Its very pretty love the color, shape, everything about it!
I am looking forward to what is next as well. Curious about it maybe something he got in China recently! :)
I love the cup’s shape! Reminds me of a shell of some sort :) and your gaiwan is such a beautiful color! Love it!
