I’m not sure how much effort your friends are willing to put into getting you tea, but I’m guessing they’re not going to be going out of their way to visit tea houses and such. I can say that they should keep a look out for Dammann Fréres, Mariage Fréres and Kusmi teas in France, as I wouldn’t be surprised to see tins of those in a lot of various grocery/gift shops.

If any of your friends going to Paris, Mariage Fréres’ tea house is in a pretty interesting area. La Grande Epicerie De Paris is probably a one stop shop for tea, and it’s an awesome store to just browse through. They also have a section of bulk tea of all sorts of good stuff that I wish I looked at more. I did however find a photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/empressm/5508807008/

If your friends are going to Portugal, and they are in Lisbon or Porto, you can try asking them to go to a traditional tea store and buy you tea from the Azores (Gorreana or another plantation). Maybe the green Gorreana is the best http://steepster.com/teas/gorreana/3900-cha-verde-hysson-green-tea . Heck you can even buy the green Gorreana in tea bags in any Pingo Doce supermarket. It´s different tea. It´s pretty nice but somewhat different than any teas I ever had. The teabag box would be around 2 euros, the loose leaf maybe 5…

If you like black tea, try asking your friends as well to buy you tea from Mozambique in portugal. It would have to be in a traditional tea and cofee store and it should be quite cheap. The only brand likely available should be this one Namuli http://steepster.com/teas/namuli/23075-cha-namuli

In Lisbon you got other stores which sell lots of foreign tea. I do not advise buying packaged MF or Kusmi or Danman in Portugal if you can get it in France, it is much cheaper in their stores in Paris. Though if you want MF, there are some stores which sell MF by the weight, and it´s more tolerable prices that way.

If you want addresses let me know!
