i showed a bag of CS peppermint tea to my cat Zoie and she was not happy about it and couldn’t have been bothered with it
Hunter will crawl into my lap and be all “HEY, WHATCHA GOT THERE!?” When I let him smell it, he gets horribly offended.
I don’t remember Yates ever being interested in my tea, but he would often think that if someone was fixing something in the kitchen they should have been fixing (wet) food for HIM. And he would TOTALLY tell you so.
Shanti, we had to put him to sleep. :-(
I miss him so much. He was a very special kitty.
I’m so sorry :( I’m sending love and healing vibes your way
Maybe a sachet of catnip infused for a few minutes might be more acceptable to the cat? I’d be tempted to try it too! Catnip tea – hmmmm..
LOVING this topic!
Well, I will post often as I have 3 dogs and 2 cats!
Suzie – our almost 9 year old Jack Russell/Dachshund Mix likes to sniff everything…I did catch her SIPPING – or should I say slurping – my Strawberries and Cream Roobos Wegman’s Brand! LOL
I almost fell on the floor laughing when that happened. I thought for sure she was going to stick her pinkie finger up in the air! teehee She was treating it like it was so dainty and delicate!
JRT and Dachshund? I bet she’s a cutie! I have a cairn and boston terrier mix… but I could swear there’s some JRT in her. I have some pics of her on fb- check ’em out:)
My kitty choose my tea for me this morning. HarSha versus Hao Ya ‘A’. She liked Hao Ya ‘A’ better. Honestly, I doubt she could have smelled either one seeing as they were still in it’s container. She just kept rubbing up against Hao Ya so I decided to go with that.
Then Sammy my 19 year old Cockapoo knows where I keep the brunt of my tea at home and everytime I open that cabinet he runs over to it – he has been known to suggest a tea or two for me in the evenings…
LOL. Hunter also runs over to the china cabinet when I open it (it’s where we keep the teas in decorative tins, as well as all of the nice pots and mug sets). He really hates closed doors, though, and gets all excited when a previously closed door is opened.
Charlie our 9 1/2 year old white and black cat often sniffs the tea I have in the mug then looks up at me and winces a funny face…usually he’s right…there is either a funky smell or a funky taste to it! :P
My one year old Papillon is constantly sticking her nose in my tea cups. I have to guard them with my life while I’m drinking! She also likes to munch on tea leaves. I dropped some the other day and she pounced on them, took a few, and buried them in a blanket for later.
My cockatiel loves any liquid. She has been banned from being around anything where she can drown since I found her upside down in a cup with her legs sticking up in the air…
Cute with the pup – scary with the bird! Ek!
Good topic! I’ve seen dog treats w/ green tea in them so I was wondering if I could put cold decaf tea in Madison’s water bowl instead of regular water. I’m thinking specificially white tea in the summer because it lowers body temp and she can’t handle the summer heat.
My jack-a-bee Sam (jack russell, beagle mix) sneaks the last drops of tea in my cup almost daily, The other day I had an infusion that left quite a few fannings in the cup, apparently they were rather astringent because Sam headed straight for her water dish after licking the cup clean. I have to guard my cup of tea or else I dont get any with her around.
I just have to say that your dog is ADORABLE! She must have QUITE a personality (I have a Beagle and I know they have great personalities, and all of the Jack Russells I’ve met are larger than life!!).
