Aren’t some spam bots key word driven? Personally, for this one, I think it is pot o’ gold in the title that attracted them. For the other one…it is probably the number of posts.

I doubt it has anything to do with the phrase “Pot o’ Gold” because they spammed my other Tea of the Week Thread and it didn’t have that phrase. This coming week I think I am going to start a new thread and leave the “Tea of the Week” phrase out of it and see what happens. Honestly, I’m starting to think it’s one of my competitors who doesn’t want people to subscribe to my threads notifying them of the new tea each week. Kind of sad really, but people are weird. Funny thing is, they seem to be drawing MORE attention to it rather than less.

I think it’s just spammers targeting large threads. They’re all coming from Chinese domains that are common for spammers…

But this wasn’t a big thread when they started… You’re probably right though. It’s a bit paranoid of me to think they are singling me out. LOL. Maybe you should consider the captcha thing or a security question, like “What’s your favorite beverage?”

Now they’re just targeting independent tea shops… David’s Verdant has been hit too.
