Favorite Tea Movie Moments

So, I just finished watching Tucker and Dale vs Evil, which was a fairly amusing movie. I don’t want to ruin anything, but there was one (kind of two) very funny tea-related moments in this movie.

It got me thinking… anyone have a favorite tea reference in a movie?

I can’t think of anything specific but do love when Heddie (sp?) on NCIS Los Angeles talks tea or makes someone join her for a cup.

I actually started watching this show just for that reason! Glad to know someone else was influenced by that. I thought I was just weird!

I can’t say if you are weird or not LOL I know I am! :)
Its a great show – and Heddi is awesome! Wish I had her tea stash! :)

I wound up in the comments on that video and was amused by the argument over whether it was ‘constant comment’ or ‘constant comet’. Comet Guy appeared to be completely unconvincable. First time he sees an actual box of CC he’s going to feel like such an idiot. :p

Now that you’ve pointed that out I have read all the comments. I should have known better!

Yeah that’s the sort of thought I always get when I wind up doing that. I despair for the future of humanity, I really do.

Heh, so, randomly browsing around some sites today… I bring you Contsant Comet ;)

I’ve seen this tea in person!! it moonlights as their Christmas tea over the winter :)

I just watched Suspicion tonight on Amazon (a 1940’s Alfred Hitchcock film with Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine) that had several scenes of tea pouring. I was fascinated by the pots.

I know it’s a show and not a movie, but Doctor Who obviously has a great deal of tea culture (though more so in the older ones).

Funny I caught the end of one of those the other night and wanted to watch more of them! Will look for the tea references, Thanks for the heads up!

Hands down… my fave tea moments are when PJ asks for or makes tea on The Mentalist.
I found this medley of tea scenes on youtube: http://youtu.be/yjHi_o_CTSY

Of course, the ultimate moment was (SPOILER ALERT COMING UP, IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN LAST YEAR’S SEASON FINALE)
when PJ orders and sips away at a pot of Lapsang Souchong whilst confronting his nemesis (RJ)
Now, there are some serious continuity issues in this scene and I can’t find one that includes him actually ordering the tea… but here’s a link:
http://youtu.be/AwoIeYWHHO0

and yes, I have a serious crush on PJ!! <3

Me too! And I LOVE that he is a tea drinker. I think I fall in love with him all over again when he either asks for tea or makes it. sigh

I watched that show a little bit a while back, but sort of fell out of watching. Don’t think I ever saw/noticed the tea thing!

LiberTEAS: I know right?!? guh, he is soooo much sexier when making tea…

Daniel: Watch the finale, it’s worth it just to see him order some Lapsang :P

REALLY?! geek out So he doesn’t just drink bagged tea, huh? That’s so awesome, a loose-leaf drinking mainstream television hero.

Yes, he does drink loose leaf, but, he will settle for bagged tea if that is what is available to him. I just love that tea is his beverage of choice! Makes him so much hotter than he already is.

“The meaning of tea” is a very good documentary but quite mainstream, one of those that you want to have a gong fu cha regardless if it’s 2am in the morning :)

“The bitter taste of tea” is a documentary that arose after the “fair trade” movement and reveals the way that workers are treated to most countries producing tea regardless the "fair"trade.
Generally it was quite shocking(I guess most of you will not want to know if children are gathering you tea) and made me realize how important is to know the type of farms/farmers you get your tea from.

You keep mentioning the latter. Where did you find it? It’s definitely not on iTunes, not that I expected it to be. (Although there are, interestingly enough, podcasts on the subject for anyone who cares to look.)

Edit – Actually, just looks like the same podcast from different departments of the UCLA. “Does ‘Fair Trade’ Help Those Who Harvest Tea?” An hour and 16 minutes.

Sorry to keep replying to you, but I think I just found it. Do you mean this one?
