How to make tea lattes?
I’ve just gotten a milk frother, and I was wondering if any of you have good recipes / tips on how do make a good one? Thanks!

I don’t know if it’s the right way, but here’s how I do it – Make a cup of tea a bit stronger than I would usually (I’ll use a bit more leaf and steep a tidbit longer for a stronger flavour, unless it’s a finicky bitter tea) sweeten the tea if I feel like it
and then in a separate cup I’ll heat up my milk, froth it, then pour it into the tea cup!

I will have to try this! I always made the matcha then poured the milk on top, but I will totally make it with just matcha and milk. And popsicles. :D
I really want to start trying matcha when I go home for the summer. And green tea popsicles sound like a delicious summer treat!
I usually only do lattes with flavored blacks but I also really like it with green mate.
I have a 12 oz. Noble mug from DAVIDsTEA that I do it in so if you have something comparable than this recipe/direction thingy would be best for that.
I like to use a little more tea and steep a little longer (like DaisyChubb above me said), but I also use slightly less water so that I get the strongest brew possible. When there’s 2 minutes left on my timer I start to froth the milk. I take a separate ceramic mug, fill it about 1/3 of the way full with soy milk (though any milk will work) and put it in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. When it’s done, I take it out (I have a stick frother so if you don’t have that one than ignore this part completely) and put my frother in the milk and let it go until the milk has foamed up to about the top of the mug. I then take out the leaves (they’re usually done by this point), and dump out some of the water so there’s room for the foam. I sweeten the tea with a VERY little amount of maple syrup (I think it adds a nice flavor and I’m a true Vermonter at heart :D) and then I spoon the foam onto the top of the tea.
My favorites to make into lattes are green mate (any variety, this one sound weird but it’s really good with soy milk and maple syrup, which is how I do it), DAVIDsTEA’s Pumpkin Chai, Cha Yen Thai by Teavana, and Coffee Pu-erh by DAVIDsTEA
I also have the 12oz Noble! And a cheap stick frother from IKEA :)

I know this is an older post, but I did a search in discussions a few days ago for lattes because I was curious on how to go about making a tea latte and I was so happy to see this! I purchased a milk frother today and some new yummy tea and just had my first go at making a homemade latte. It’s pretty good, a bit weak, but I was trying to make 2 cups (one for my fiancée and one for myself). I can see this becoming sooo addicting once I get the hang of it. :) Thanks to everyone who wrote in this post previously, my tea mug and my fiancée who is slurping his down, are appreciative for the expert tips. :)
Yay! Definitely brew double-strength if you can, heat the milk first and use a wide-brimmed mug if you have one :)
Oh I didn’t use a wide brimmed mug either. Haha, I am going to perfect this eventually. :)
It’s an art! I myself just like them because then I can sort of cuddle with it and there’s more room for the foam to spread out. Now I want a latte…
I recently had a chamomile honey tea latte with steamed almond milk. I asked how they made it and I feel like it was something crazy like two tablespoons loose chamomile in a 1/4 cup water to make this tea concentrate. Then dilute it with almond milk and maybe more water?
