Cooking/Baking with Tea?
Do you guys do any cooking or baking with your tea? I’m a big baker, so I’m always trying to find ways to incorporate tea into food. Post your recipes here! I’ll give some of mine:

I love cooking with tea! My favourite right now is a matcha tea protein smoothie which I haven’t posted the recipe for yet but I will….
Here’s a recipe of mine for Earl Grey Cupcakes with lemon buttercream icing though!

I did it a few times: matcha crepes and dango, dragonwell rubbed chicken, lapsang souchong rubbed beef… I even did a gyokuro rice once, but used leftover leaves.
I’m sorry that I don’t have any recipes to share as I don’t bake often but I had to stop by and post about these great looking recipes! Tea pastries sound delicious and I’ve never tried any before. I’m not much of a baker so does anyone know where I can purchase some great tea pastries? By the way, thanks for the great recipes! I may try to bake but it’s always spelled bad news for me in the past.
Chocolate Earl Grey Cake: I’ve made this with all kinds of Earl but I like Earl Grey Cream the best.

I made Mariage Frères’ tarte tatin au thé a couple weeks ago: http://twominutesforbaking.net/2012/04/09/tarte-tatin-au-the-tea-flavored-tarte-tatin/
I once poached salmon in lapsang souchong, it was delicious!
Was at Lao Shanghai in Chicago, and had a killer tea smoked duck as well
Wow that sounds amazing. I never thought of the combination of tea with food even though it makes perfect sense. The combinations are endless! I wish I were a good cook so I could try different variations. I must try to find a restaurant that offers meals infused with tea!
Yup, LS goes well with any ‘heavier’ meat. I was thinking of mixing LS with salt and pepper and use it as a rub for grill this summer.
This past Thanksgiving, I found a recipe for cranberry sauce made with earl grey and spices. I think it was a better accompaniment to the meal than traditional cranberry sauce.
Rooibos Cupcakes were a big hit with my family

I’ve only made matcha with shortbread, but it’s easy to add it to anything, just add a tablespoon or two to the flour and sift.
I can find tons of recipes for shortbread matcha I’m just a little nervous as it’s my first time :D
My last tea related baking adventure was back in September…I made some awesome chai tea oatmeal cookies! http://www.adustingofsugar.com/2012/09/back-to-school-with-chai-oatmeal-cookies.html
