Tea vs. Coffee...Can't we all just get along?

I enjoy both but I agree with kOmpir, my stomach can’t stand it most of the time so I drink tea more often. I don’t mind having a cup of coffee here and there but I definitely lean towards tea. You can enjoy both and there’s nothing wrong with it. I think some people just like one more than the other.

I drink both. Coffee in the morning, tea for later in the afternoon.

ugh, I always shudder at the sight of what ppl will consume in the lounge just because it’s free and they didn’t bother to bring something better >_<

I like coffee ok, it’s just too strong for me usually, and can upset my stomach. But if it’s done right, I really do like it. I think there’s no real “siding” between coffee or tea, as far as it being a war-type thing. So you like coffee more, doesn’t mean I’m not going to go crazy on you. :) I think we can all get along just fine!

I have never been a fan of drinking coffee. The only way I have ever been able to get it to where I didn’t want to rinse my mouth after a sip was heaping it with so much sugar and milk that it was just ridiculous. Which is sad, since I love the smell of it. But used as a flavoring in ice cream or cake, I do like it.

I don’t have an issue with others drinking coffee, though I’ll throw out the occasional joke about people drinking a far inferior beverage here and there. And I do have a shirt.Woot shirt that says “Tea! The gentleman’s coffee!” on it.

The joking about it comes from people seeming to find it incomprehensible that I don’t drink coffee. It’s so ubiquitous in the US that it can be annoying, especially when I get people who continually ask me if I want coffee, when they have been told multiple times that I don’t like it (I’m looking at you, Mother-in-Law!). I can function just fine in the morning without drinking coffee, thank you. If i need a boost, tea is just fine, and tastes much better to me. I wish tea was a little more wide-spread so that I could get a hot beverage when I go out that I would actually enjoy drinking.

But the way some coffee drinkers talk, they don’t drink it because they enjoy it. They drink it because they have a dependence on it. Um, no thanks. That’s not enough reason to drink something, to me.

I enjoy both. I always start with a cup of coffee in the morning and the rest of the day is tea. :)

I don’t really have anything for straight coffee, though I’ll drink it iced from Dunkin Donuts or something. I do, however really love espresso, and I’m trying to justify buying an espresso machine for my dorm room next year. I’ve already got the milk frother to make tea lattes with… But now I want my espresso ones without having to leave the building as well :)

Weird how some people have an “us and them” perspective on tea and coffee. I like both, but coffee makes me feel nauseated if I have it on an empty stomach, hence, I drink a lot more tea.
