Nice! Seems like you did okay with the gift certificate and Scoutmob coupon! :) Hubby should not be TOO upset :)

Oh, he knows I’m responsible with money. It’s more the complaints about tea overflowing the cabinet into messy boxes next to my desk. Just gotta drink faster I guess. :D

Azzrian said

Yeah I was having that problem myself and SO early on. I have curtailed it for now. Skimmed back – given a lot to others. But there is always new stuff lol

WOOO HOOOO your going to have a hay day when that all arrives! Geesh you better be sure you have a life alert button to push in case you get trapped under a pile of tea in a tea infused coma! LOL

Zeks said

Yep :) And from what I can see in the tracking, at least Teavivre’s shipment is almost here :)

kOmpir said

When are you going to drink all that ? :O

Zeks said

Well, I do hope this will last a while :)

Azzrian said

And what you do not like you can offer up in trades! Its fun to have a large stash – find what you like – then skim back and try more in samples from others. I have no doubt you will get through it all :)

Oh, what a fun idea! We all get to live vicariously through each other. I went a little crazy with tea this month (bday money) so this is what I currently have in the mail/got this week:

Golden Moon Tea:
Coconut Pouchong tin
Shinharaja tin
$29.58

Rishi:
Bergamont Sage tin
Citron Oolong tin
Jade Cloud tin
Ancient Emerald Lily tin
West Cape Chai tin
Pu-erh Ginger tin
$51 (Mother’s Day sale + free shipping)

New Mexico Tea Company:
Kama Sutra Chai 4 oz
Plum Oolong 2 oz
Mandarin Orange White Pu-erh 1 orange
French Blend 4 oz
$33.10 (free shipping)

Upton:
Earl Grey Cream Vanilla 250 grams
Formosa Amber Oolong sample
China Oolong Organic Eastern Beauty sample
Organic Green Lu’An Melon Seed sample
Rose Congu 125 grams
East Frisian Sunday Tea sample
Saint Isaac’s Blend sample
Summer Blend sample
Christmas Tea; Mélange Noël sample
$24.50

Butiki:
Tamarind Brown Sugar custom blend 8oz
$40

Strand Tea Company:
Lilac blend 4oz
$10.90

The funny thing is I had a whole plan of how to spend this money… and all of these were pretty much impulse buys (except for the GMT order). I guess my Verdant and Yogic Chai orders will have to wait a bit.

Azzrian said

Those are two of the best Golden Moon teas! :) Happy bday and yes that was the idea to live vicariously through others and get new ideas on what to order ourselves :)
I have not heard of Strand Tea for example! Now I can look them up!
Ohhh a custom blend from butiki! Nice!!! Sounds yummy!

Alphakitty said

I am REALLY excited for the tamarind blend (it’s the flavor I posted about craving and now I can actually have it!). But it is going to take about a month… thankfully I have lots of other teas to keep me occupied. And I don’t even remember how I found Strand, but Lilac tea was just too delicious-sounding to pass up.

Azzrian said

Yeah I mean when you smell Lilac in the air it is like OMG!!!! So I can’t imagine how amazing your tea will be!

jones5874 said

The tamarind sounds great – I love that flavor.

hm, lilacs and tea…together? It could be great. What does it have in it? I wonder if it’s one of those teas that smells like the description but doesn’t really taste like it (nothing wrong with that, as smell is very much a part of the tea experience). Let us know when you try them.

I hope that Butiki Teas reads this and decides to make the Tamarind blend a permanent addition! I’d love to try it too.

I ordered the Cotton Candy Black Tea from 52teas last night as soon as I got the email.

I have two orders planned in my head that I can’t make until next week or so because I’ll be out of town.

From DavidsTea: Tropicalia, Strawberry Shortcake, Luscious Watermelon, Daydreamer

And from Butiki: the Summer Vacation package of Apricot Guayusa, Cantaloupe & Cream, Mango Lassi, and Pistachio Ice Cream

Azzrian said

Oh that summer package is going to be SO SO good!

momo said

I want to have everything sent to my parents’ house while I’m housesitting so badly but I am being good and waiting. I want to have those teas so much, I’ve been eyeing the Pistachio Ice Cream one for months!

Azzrian said

I prefer the cantaloupe and cream over the pistachio but both are amazing!

I braved the graduation crowds in Lawrence last Saturday and visited the Brits store. I wanted to see what kind of teapots and merch they had for the Diamond Jubilee (I am planning my own tea party for the June 2nd and had no quintessentially British accoutrements!).

I ended up picking up Ntingwe Kwazulu & Pure Assam Leaf Tea from Taylors of Harrogate. $6 a box, I think. 4.41 oz per box.

I have a Harney wish list in my pocket waiting for orders from Mom & a couple of friends. I have a 15% off coupon to use by the end of May and I’m sure with 3 or 4 of us we can get to the $50 free shipping threshold. I want some of the UVA Highlands and I’m going to have to try the Singbulli Oolong Darjeeling. Oolong is not my fave but I’m curious about this one. I’ll also probably pick up some of the Castleton Autumnal Darjeeling. It’s not like I have way too much Darjeeling in the house already…I’m leaning towards trying the Scottish Afternoon from Harney as well.

Other than that, I’m working on reducing my stash, not ordering more! :) Though the Cotton Candy Black from 52teas is very tempting…

Azzrian said

Ah Nicole you should have told me you were going to Lawrence! Maybe next time. :)
LOL you better get some of that Cotton Candy before it is gone! (again)!
