My first Mandala order! I was bummed the loose version of Wild Monk’s sold out and likely unrestockable, but otherwise everything I’d had on my wishlist for months was still around. Grabbed a buncha pu erh people on my feed have been raving about along with Black Beauty and Milk Oolong. Yayayayay!

LOL and I’ll say it again, you can’t go wrong with Mandala. I’m almost out of a couple of my favorites and I haven’t tried Black Beauty. I’m going to have to do this soon too…..

You were a big motivation along with a couple other Steepsters to finally move my butt into gear! So thanks. Now that the weather’s finally cooling (the best tea time!) I’m ready and excited for all my darker, heavier teas to come out.

:)) I just hope you love them as much as I do. You’ve made some good choices.

I’ve been a bad kitty. I placed two orders today after doing so well and trying to use what I already have.

I had a code for 26% off a Tealux order and it was just too good an offer to pass up.

Then I was cleaning and found my Yunomi monthly package from last month. I’ve been looking for it for a while and it turned out to be in my documents drawer. Well I blended my own GenMaicha with the kit and fell in love with it. I purchased enough to make 550g of the mix for a bargain price thanks to the 20% off club membership code.

NaturaliTea #11: Organic Autumn Bancha Tea (#TEA-NLT-BA001-200gx1)
Net weight per item: 200 grams (7.05 oz),
Quantity: 1 unit 1 $10.00
Obubu Tea #17: Genmai by Obubu (#TEA-OBT-GE002-100gx1)
Net weight per item: 100 grams (3.52 oz),
Quantity: 1 unit 2 $13.60
Takeo – Autumn Houjicha (#TEA-TKO-009-150g)
1 $9.50
Cart Subtotal: $33.10
Cart Discount: -$6.62
Shipping: $10.00 via Economy Airmail (2-4 Weeks, Tracking & Insurance Sold Separately)
Order Total: $36.48

I worked out that 5g is enough for a pot of tea for myself of the GenMaicha blend. So I could make 110 pots of tea with what I purchased for the sum of $36.48 which is roughly £23.50. That is roughly only 25p per pot of tea. That was too good and tasty an offer to ignore too.

Lots of tea to come my way, I need to make room.

Lots of good sounding stuff!

So I broke my hiatus and ordered 2 of the reviewer’s special Caramel Matchacinno’s from Red Leaf today. Mostly because I wasn’t sure how much longer it was going to be valid and I didn’t want to miss it.

….So can I just store one unopened bag in the fridge until I’m ready to drink it and it’ll keep longer? Or the freezer? Or can I just store it in a cabinet? I’m not sure how to store unopened matcha….or opened matcha for that matter actually. >>; Everywhere I read about it says something different.

I’m no expert but mine are in the fridge :)

So does anyone know how long is usually takes Red Leaf to ship an order out? I’m still waiting on this one. It currently just says ‘processed’ in the order info.

i think they’re backlogged with the matchaccino orders.

My last order took under a week to arrive, but I’m sure the free MATACHAccino promotion is probably slowing things down. I know it got posted to Reddit and Slickdeals so I’m sure Robert is busy trying to fill all of the orders that came it at the same time. You can always drop him an email, he’s really good about responding back quickly.

Last month I had asked him how to store my unopened packages and here is what he had to say:
You can store Matchaccino in cool and dark place. Please try to keep the bag sealed to preserve freshness. Unopened they will be good for up to one year.

I haven’t bought anything in a month, and I ended up with unexpected money, so I figured I was allowed $50 at DAVIDsTEA! This is what I ended up with:

-25g Salted Caramel
-25g Mango Lassi
-50g North African Mint (it’s good, and I expect it’ll be handy if I get sick)
-50g Gingerbread Rooibos
-30g White Chocolate Frost
-30g Spiced Fig
-50g Ceylon Star
-20g Currant Affair
-25g Coffee Cake
-15g Choconut Oolong

Total: $49.48 (saved $1 from reusing 2 tins)
