I had a code for 26% off a Tealux order and it was just too good an offer to pass up.
Then I was cleaning and found my Yunomi monthly package from last month. I’ve been looking for it for a while and it turned out to be in my documents drawer. Well I blended my own GenMaicha with the kit and fell in love with it. I purchased enough to make 550g of the mix for a bargain price thanks to the 20% off club membership code.

I worked out that 5g is enough for a pot of tea for myself of the GenMaicha blend. So I could make 110 pots of tea with what I purchased for the sum of $36.48 which is roughly £23.50. That is roughly only 25p per pot of tea. That was too good and tasty an offer to ignore too.
Lots of tea to come my way, I need to make room.
So I broke my hiatus and ordered 2 of the reviewer’s special Caramel Matchacinno’s from Red Leaf today. Mostly because I wasn’t sure how much longer it was going to be valid and I didn’t want to miss it.
….So can I just store one unopened bag in the fridge until I’m ready to drink it and it’ll keep longer? Or the freezer? Or can I just store it in a cabinet? I’m not sure how to store unopened matcha….or opened matcha for that matter actually. >>; Everywhere I read about it says something different.
So does anyone know how long is usually takes Red Leaf to ship an order out? I’m still waiting on this one. It currently just says ‘processed’ in the order info.
My last order took under a week to arrive, but I’m sure the free MATACHAccino promotion is probably slowing things down. I know it got posted to Reddit and Slickdeals so I’m sure Robert is busy trying to fill all of the orders that came it at the same time. You can always drop him an email, he’s really good about responding back quickly.
Last month I had asked him how to store my unopened packages and here is what he had to say:
You can store Matchaccino in cool and dark place. Please try to keep the bag sealed to preserve freshness. Unopened they will be good for up to one year.
Since it’s payday I had to order some stuff from 52teas
Candy Corn and Frankenberry (I’m going backwards UNLIKE WORK I DON’T NEED YOUR GINGERBREAD)
and iced tea packs: Vanilla Cola, Key Lime Cheesecake, Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish, Coconut Cream Pie, Rootbeer Float

I haven’t bought anything in a month, and I ended up with unexpected money, so I figured I was allowed $50 at DAVIDsTEA! This is what I ended up with:
-25g Salted Caramel
-25g Mango Lassi
-50g North African Mint (it’s good, and I expect it’ll be handy if I get sick)
-50g Gingerbread Rooibos
-30g White Chocolate Frost
-30g Spiced Fig
-50g Ceylon Star
-20g Currant Affair
-25g Coffee Cake
-15g Choconut Oolong
Total: $49.48 (saved $1 from reusing 2 tins)
I couldn’t resist but I had to order from DAVIDsTEA.
The choconut oolong was calling my name. Along with a black tin and secret santa in the stackable tin. I really want one of the holiday perfect mugs but the one I want isn’t available yet:/
Me – I’m running out of my Medium Roast Dong Ding Oolong, I only have enough for a few more pots.
My husband – I can buy you some for Christmas if you like.
Me – I’m not going to argue with that…oohh look they have a few things in the clearance sale too (wink wink)
My husband – Buy whatever you want, here’s my card
I think it’s safe to say that I didn’t go crazy but it’s a nice size order for an already over flowing tea cupboard.

1x High Elevation Green Tea – 2.8oz – 2.8 oz for $5.00 each

My wallet is groaning but my cupboard is ecstatically happy! Still considering picking up a few things from DT and Lupicia, and maybe Tea Chai Té. Have also heard that Porte Rouge is getting in the Heritage Gourmand collection from Mariage Freres so I may be tempted in that direction. Oof.
Argh, I couldn’t help it! Lupicia sent an email a few days ago with some limited Hawaiian blends, and I really wanted a couple of them. I was hoping they would last for a while (at least until Black Friday), but the 50g tins are already sold out of the ones I wanted! I had to snag the sachets before they disappeared.
