I was tempted to do a Teavana order with their crazy sales, but went with Butiki http://www.butikiteas.com/ as I know I won’t be disappointed, plus a couple of the teas I wanted to try were just put on sale!

Three Friends
Traditional Plum Pudding
Creamy Eggnog
Kamba Berry

I made an order from Golden Moon Teas for 1/2lb of Kashmiri chai the other week that just came in :D I had no idea a half pound of tea was this much. The bag is about the size of my head.

Also just placed an order with Butiki Teas for $30:
Kamba Berry, .5oz
Strawberry Oolong, .5oz
Tangerine Creamsicle, 1oz
Cantaloupe & Cream, .5oz
Grapefruit Dragon, 1oz
And possibly an ounce of Gui Fei Oolong!

These were my first tea orders in a while – I’m trying to make sure my stash doesn’t get out of control, since I have so little space and I’ve already had a problem with some teas contaminating others (mainly jasmine stuff). I did just buy some of those nice tins from Specialty Bottles to hopefully keep everything stored better.

the Kashmiri chai sounds lovely!

17 ounces of tea for $30? I want to buy everything now..

Raven said

Noo, those are half ounces (17 would be crazy and amazing). It ends up about 4.5oz. Though you can get the chai I got in a full pound bag for $32, which is nearly 17oz/$30!

That makes WAY more sense. I don’t know why my brain didn’t process the periods.

Red Leaf Tea! (Yay! Got a gift certificate from the matcha program!)
30g of each, “there’s matcha in there?” flavour level

Peppermint
Pumpkin Pie
Coconut
Banana
Total after g.cert – $50.94!
Does this actually mean I’ll get $15 g.cert for each of these 4?! I’m a matcha noob!

Sil select said

you got it boxermama! You can only use your gift certificate to pay for 30% of your next matcha orders but it means that the only time it’s cheaper is if you snag a sale matcha :)

BoxerMama said

That’s amazing! Next time maybe I’ll do the 5 + 2! I did the 3 + 1 this time.

BoxerMama said

They sent the wrong order! :(

Babble said

Uh-oh. They should be good about fixing it. I know Red Leaf has had issues with the postal system before.

BoxerMama said

It was packed wrong. contained the right packing slip, but wrong contents. It just sucks because i’m in Canada so it takes close to two weeks to get here already.

Sil select said

doh..that sucks. Not sure how that would happen – Red Leaf is generally damn good about things like that. Hopefully something in the box is tasty for you while you wait for the correct order (i’m assuming they let you keep the mistake of course) heh.

BoxerMama said

I’m not sure, there are 4 matchas in there, that a lot of money.

BoxerMama said

They told me to keep them! I’m amazed by this! Such and excellent company to deal with.

Just ordered 100 gr of both of new Verdant’s teas. One thing I know for sure – you just can’t pass the opportunity to try stuff David thinks is peculiar.

Anxi Fo Shou Black Tea
Amount: 4 oz. ($29.50 each)
Quantity: 1

Master Han’s Wild Picked Yunnan Black
Amount: 4 oz. ($54.00 each)
Quantity: 1

Also, Russian Post is a record setter. I’ve only today got a package from JK teas that was sent to me on…. 4th November

Kittenna said

WOW. Two months to receive a parcel?!

Zeks said

Never less than one month here. 2 is a record though :)

Kittenna said

Geez, and I thought having to wait 2 weeks for orders was bad enough!

I have so much tea by now, that I don’t really care that much :)

I just took advantage of the sale from Whispering Pines. I ordered Dark Chocolate Oolong, the Fantastic Five sampler, several Imperial Shou Puerh Tuocha, and Ancient Forests. I’m super excited about my order, but even more excited about the extra 2 oz of tea (mystery tea!) from the promotion.

Well, I thought I had missed out on the Davids Tea year-end promotion. I lucked out and ordered their q-teapot in Fire Red at 50% off today. So excited about it! (I also tossed in a couple of tea tins since I need more for my Black Friday tea purchases.)

Well I don’t know what made me do it – I really REALLY do not need more tea but one really grabbed my eye then I had to add another because 5 dollars shipping is not worth it for one tea. So I got:
Vanilla Orchid 50 g

Brazillionaire 50 g

I really wanted the Vanilla Orchard after seeing Michelle’s review on this I knew I had to get some. Then because I LOVE Brazil nuts I grabbed the other.

Shmiracles said

i approve!!! haha
and i’m impressed because one tea would quickly turn into a 12 tea order for me. next time i start a davidstea cart i’ll ask “what would azzrian do?”

Azzrian said

HAHA! Azzrian would put everything in her cart then trim it down to just a few that she REALLY KNOWS she MUST have and enough to make the shipping worth it and save the rest in a note to self for another time :)

Kittenna said

Hahahahaha. Well, at least you picked ones that are good IMO! Vanilla Orchid is a nice flavoured green oolong, and Brazillionaire was much tastier than I anticipated. Enough so that I’d like more (but can’t justify).

Whenever I make a DT order that doesn’t hit $50, I throw in gift cards, haha. SO I got $30 of gift cards with my Boxing Day order…

Azzrian said

That is a great Idea Kittenna but ummm when would your order NOT hit 50? I mean I could easily spend 50 anytime haha. That is if I let myself :)
So if you are going to spend the money anyway why not get the tea?
Huh? Huh? LOL

Kittenna said

Well, living near a store means that I prefer to pick up small amounts of tea, so instead of ordering big 50g bags online, I go in and get 8g samples of everything new :D There’s actually only one new tea for me right now though! The January TOTM.

Azzrian said

Ahhhhh I see that makes perfect sense! :) If I lived close I would do the same – very very smart idea! :)
Wow girl only ONE new to you tea from them haha thats amazing your a goddess! :)

Sil select said

lol the david’s tea near me won’t sell me less than 50g the couple of time’s i’ve actually gone in. their loss lol

Azzrian said

What??? They can do that? WHY would they do that? That is just BAD business! BAH

Sil select said

Heh well that tea company who shall not be named teavana does the same thing. And there are multiple stores in Toronto with the same policy. I think it’s ridiculously stupid since if I can pick up samples, i’ll walk out with 10+ and likely come back to buy a bag of 1-2 later…if i can’t do that, then I generally don’t buy anything unless a wonderful person has swapped with me before.

Azzrian said

Just WOW!

Uniquity said

I have never had someone at Davids refuse to sell me a small amount. That is the sort of thing I would take up with customer service.

Sil select said

Thanks for the heads up…maybe I’ve just gotten unlucky. Next time I’m out and about ill try again :)

Claire said

Yeah that sounds shady, Sil. The folks at David’s tea in SF will happily sell me less than 50g. I second talking to customer service, I think they would want to know about that.
