With the 30% off, I decided to place a Della Terra order. The discount covered shipping to Canada, and a couple dollars of my actual order. Sadly they didn’t have samples of everything I wanted, so I ended up with 2oz of a couple teas. Umm.

2oz:
Chocolate Covered Strawberry
Double Berry Burst
1oz:
Lemon Chiffon
Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
Orange Brulee (oolong)
Lime Chiffon
Strawberries & Cream
Lemon Pepper Mélange

I also signed up for the Verdant tea club without thinking. I’ve already emailed to cancel after the first month, because with $38.50 for the $30 club, or $40 of tea with free shipping, the $40 with free shipping is obviously the better deal. What I need is a friend in Bellingham. :)

Could you sign up for the club… and order 10$ in additional tee every month to get free shipping?

Mmmm, yummy sounding Della Terra order!

great order! I’ve been interested in that orange brulee tea!
errr, I’m on the fence for doing another Della Terra order!

OMGsrsly said

@yappy, I think I asked that in my email. It is something to consider, especially if one of their teas becomes a regular tea for me to drink. (I tend to drink the same teas every morning!)

Dinosara said

Unfortunately they process tea orders from the tea clubs differently, so they can’t combine shipping on regular orders and tea club stuff (I just asked last week)

Thanks Dinosara! I stand by my idea of a tea-friend just across the border.

Caved after stumbling upon some reviews for Mountain Tea Co’s oolongs. I couldn’t resist.

1x Green Jin Xuan – 2 oz for $7.00 each
1x Mountain Oolong, Winter – 2 oz for $10.00 each
1x Heritage Honey Oolong – 5oz for $10.00 each

Wish I could’ve ordered less of the Heritage Honey Oolong (for storage reasons, more than anything else), but it’s on clearance and very nicely priced, so I can’t complain.

Most likely the last order for the month (already!), as I’ve spent so much recently. Just put 500+ into my car…stupid car, taking away from my tea buying ability!

Emily M said

Curses! You know what I hate? When a tea company I just placed an order with sends me a coupon for ordering with them for 20% off my next purchase. Ok, I don’t HATE it, but it stinks. Hopefully the coupon stays good until I can afford another tea order.

Azzrian said

Happened to me with them on my last order!
However your order prompted me to get 5 ounces of this myself. I love it and it is perfect for a yixing I have yet to season!
I am also afraid it will be gone soon.

Emily M said

That’s what prompted me to buy the Heritage Honey, as well! I wanted to try it and was afraid if I waited it wouldn’t be around when I got to it.

And your welcome/sorry for prompting a spontaneous buy! haha

Azzrian said

Haha thats what we do here to each other :)
Its a good thing as I may have missed it and I mean 10 bucks for 5 ounces of that good of an oolong is so worth it! Then I did use my code. So really 8 bucks.

Emily M said

=) I agree, it is a wonderful deal. Plus, I’ll be able to share some with others, which is always nice!
That’s great your code worked still! I hope mine does, because I’m sure I’ll want to use it.

Azzrian said

Exactly I know I shared so much of my first batch with others I ran out fast lol I will have even more to share now!
Oh Emily seriously I have really enjoyed exploring Mountain Teas tea and I love the bags they come in – although not resealable there is just something cool and colorful about them :)

Emily M said

They all sound really good, and I can’t wait to get my order!
Once I have more money to spend I plan on getting a few other ones.

Everytime I look at orders you guys have received I start to drool ;)

I need to keep out of this thread for the same reason. I’d be buying 10x more tea if I came here too often!

BoxerMama said

Me tooo! lol, this thread is awful! I was just thinking about how, for the first time in a long time, I don’t have any orders en route to me. . . Then I realized I’m wrong. I need to stop coming here.

This thread is the worst. and the sales thread. omg.

This thread exercises my willpower. Often it’s strong, other times…not so much.

I’m just curious is all.

Emily M said

I try to be strong. I come here because I’m curious, too, but end up getting sucked in most of the time. I look at an order, see something that looks interesting, and if I don’t buy it right then I think about it for a few days and then cave. Sometimes I can resist, though. I’m working on getting better. haha

yappy- I don’t go on the sales thread anymore. It’s too tempting. I just stay out unless I am looking to buy.

I have 200$ in tea gift certs waiting to be used haha

Emily M said

Oh man! Lucky! haha
I’d be spending those all at once… and then I’d be buried under an unmanagable mountain of tea. But at least I’d die happy and surrounded by things I love. ;)

I have tons of tea already. Slowly working through 50 0.5 oz try me pack sizes from della terra. taking forever. and the rest of course. Really focusing on trying all the della terra now though. neeed that gone.

Emily M said

Wow! That’s a lot of Della Terra! I’ve been tempted, but I definately know I can’t buy that much. 1) I’d have no room for the tea, 2)I’d never get through it all, and 3) I don’t have the money to buy that much and still be able to try other companies. But if I had the money, time, and space, I’d be right there with you!

I ordered 6 try me packs while they were still 30% off. so i meant 60 0.5 oz haha. Although its been great trying so much of their stuff and I’ve found some I really like and plan on reordering, So far most have only been so-so.

Emily M said

Well, at least you got them 30% off!

Submitted to Della Terra, again:

The Rabbit’s Garden 1oz
Orange Brulee 1oz

$8.71 with coupon code and shipping.

Totally on a no buy for awhile! I need to save up for a huge Teavire order I keep putting off and I’d love to do another Steep City order too.

Don’t get why all of you are so about the rabbits garden tea haha. i grabbed a sample though. Enjoy the orange brulee. Orange oolong is great.

I think the peas won me over, lol! I’m a sucker for unique blends!

Emily M said

There are peas in it?!

Yeah, and also corn.

Emily M said

I don’t like either of those things, so I guess that’s one that I won’t have to try. haha
Saves me some money!
Does sound interesting, though.

Corn is gross. But it sounded so weird I had to give it a go. In the 0.5g try me pack form of course.

Emily M said

Agreed (Yuck!). I’ve had corn in tea before and it wasn’t strong or anything. But peas AND corn in a tea…I don’t know about that. Can’t wait to see what you think of it! haha

Azzrian said

I really wanted to try Rabbit’s Garden until I saw the lemongrass in it. BLECH

The lemongrass threw me off too. And I like lemongrass. Just doesn’t seem to be where they were going with the tea. I’m thinking you can taste it more than the corn and peas and the rest combined.

Last month I also splurged as it was my birthday month. :) It’s only once a year right? hehe

So I was home for the weekend and was rummaging through my parents’ tea cabinet for something to drink. I found a tin of some weird powdery black stuff. Smelled ancient. I asked my dad was this was. Apparently it was puerh and he really enjoys it. Well, the tin was nearly empty and his birthday is coming up, so I made an order on Mandala Teas for better quality stuff for my pops. And of course I had to pick up a couple of unique teas for myself. :p

Ripe Pu’er Mini-Tuocha Variety Package
4 ounces

Flowering Black Tea Cones
1 ounce

Yunnan Beauty
1 ounce

Hope he likes it!

Super nice!

Of course, no one should be surprised that I went and bought 2 oz of Laoshan Black not 15 minutes after I commented on Frolic’s post above. Would have been sooner but I chose to write about my Mandala order first. haha

Yay, Laoshan black!

Also got an ounce of Anxo Fo Shou. The reviews have had my salivating for weeks!

Sil select said

was really hoping for laoshan black genmaicha to be up when i saw this was back…

I’ve seen bags of roasted brown rice at a Chinese food store. Maybe it’s possible to make your own?

Ugh. I want Laoshan Black now! The Anxi Fo Shou is amazing. I only ordered Della Terra last week? Justifying a small Mountain Tea order and another Verdant order this week. grrr

I’ve been itching to try Laoshan Black, and I noticed it was back in stock, so I bit the bullet and bought 2oz. Very daring considering I’ve never even had it before, but I have faith in Steepster’s reviews. :)

I also ran back to Butiki Teas and ordered extra Taiwanese Assam, along with Organic Irish Breakfast, Pineapple Cilantro Cream, and Maple Pecan Oolong. Those latter three will be the first time I’ve tried any of those (the lattermost being my first oolong ever. Kind of excited :D )

After that I think I’m going to try and drink through everything slowly. With all of those added to my current inventory, I’m starting to have quite a lot of tea. ^^; Plus if I don’t slow down, I think my wallet might go on strike.

lteg select said

Hope you enjoy your first oolong! A flavored oolong was where I started and it made me totally fall in love with them (I’ve just barely stuck my toes into trying unflavored oolongs lately and I’m having a blast!). Heh, I feel you on the wallet thing. I want to order more Verdant stuff so bad (especially Loashan and Anxi Fo Shou) but I think my bank account requires me to take a little breather for a bit XD

Enjoy your first oolong. Try a good unflavored one next time.

Chizakura said

Hehe, thanks for the good wishes. :) I figured seeing as I never had an oolong before, getting a flavored one would be a good way to dip my toes in. If I really like it, then I’ll grab an unflavored. (plus I’m a real sucker for anything with maple, so I just had to xD)

Though I think my bank account would rather I didn’t like it, so I won’t buy more. cough
