My first Mandala order in a couple of months:

4oz-“Dian Hong” Black Tea of Fengqing
2oz-GABA Oolong-super curious about this one

Oh, that’s a nice manageable order! :)
(Looking around the room)
This is a dangerous place for me, kind of like an alcoholic going into a bar to order a glass of milk… ;)

SFTGFOP said

I’m really curious about their Milky Oolong as that’s the top rated tea on Steepster.

Sil select said

the oolong is delicious…and i dislike oolongs in general that are green :)

I’m not a big fan of milky oolongs, but even I enjoyed it. It really is a nice one!

SFTGFOP said

Guess I’ll add it to my list. I really like the rating tool, some day when I am rich enough I am going to order all of the top 100 teas and just taste them one after another.

I don’t like Milky Oolong either, but I haven’t had one in years so maybe things have changed!

I am not a fan of green oblongs in general but Mandala’s Milk Oolong and also Alishan are pretty excellent.

It was way too easy to put together my Butiki order for winning the art contest. In fact I went over and am going to end up paying for some of it, too :)

1991 Da Ye Aged Oolong
Lychee Oolong
Ruby Pie
Japanese Puerh
Root Beer Float Honeybush
Earthen Gaiwan
Anji Bai Cha
Leafhopper magnet
Da yu ling oolong
Foxy Roxy’s Banana Walnut Treat
Rhubarb Vanilla Ale
Irish Cream Cheesecake

I can’t wait to try the ones I’ve not had yet. On this list I’ve only tried Anji Bai Cha, Ruby Pie, and Banana Walnut treat!

So I really should be watching my money and cutting back on spending but I noticed there was only one more package of Strawberry Pie Honeybush left on the 52 teas site and I could not resist. Plus, I figured once I was ordering I should throw in some Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. At least it was under $20 and I only bought the teas I know I really enjoy.

I placed a small order with The London Tea Company as they have an up to 70% off gifts sale. The order only came to £8.62 but should have been £17.65. Huge saving!

1 x Pyramid Prism White = 2.39 which contains:
3x Rooibos, Nutmeg & Vanilla
3x Red Berries
3x Vanilla Chai
3x Decaffeinated Breakfast Tea

1 x The British Range = 3.48 which contains:
Lady Earl Grey contains: Black tea with orange & Bergamot.
Irish Breakfast Tea contains: Black tea.
Scottish Blend Tea contains: Black tea.

Sub-total (including VAT): 5.87
Standard Delivery (UK): 2.75
Grand Total: 8.62

So far my Black Friday Orders include:

Teavivre – a few samples
Yezi Tea – Restock of a few teas i love
Mandala tea – teas off my wish list, cleaning solution and MY FIRST CAKE! woot woot! I’m super duper excited about that!

Dexter3657 said

I’m 2 out of 3 for that list and trying really hard not to make it 3 for 3.
(I really like the Mandala cleaning stuff…good choice)

What cake are you going for? Yay!

I’m getting some Teavivre samples too I think….

Sil select said

Dex – uh i’m also going to be placing 1-2 butiki orders? and a couple of della terra teas coming my way…

Steph – “Wild Monk” Raw Pu’er 100 gram – 2012 i missed the other cake i really wanted from garret a while back so i’m doing it!

Wild monk is my jam :)

Lala said

Sil, from Mandala are you talking about the smart soak tea stain remover – do you know how well it works?

Sil select said

i am Lala – i haven’t used it but others have and tell me it’s great….and i know garret will stand by his product if i’m REALLY unhappy. I figure it’s worth 6$ to just test it out… i have a large number of tea stained things that i can’t get really clean :)

Dexter3657 said

Lala – I have the smart soak – AMAZING on stainless steel infusers and travel mugs. FANTASTIC on my white kitchen counters. Pretty good, but it leaves a bit of a film that’s hard to get off my plastic gravity steeper. Hope that helps…

edit: word of caution, it really foams. Be careful not to burn yourself with hot water foaming and overflowing things like travel mugs -

Cavocorax said

I’d never heard of it, but am intrigued. I just scrubbed my counter with baking soda. Idek how it gets everywhere…

That cake sounds awesome! Enjoy!

Sil select said

dex..you say that like you know me…LOL
Cavo..it will be here…waiting for you to taste…the tea not the cleaning stuff haha

Dexter3657 said

LOL – how do you think I figured out that it worked well on counter tops….

Woot, grats on your first cake! Ha, that was my first cake too and it is really amazing one!

Sil select said

…and i just added Verdant to the list…YAY FOR BLENDS!

Dexter3657 said

…….ditto……….

Well I started Black Friday early and ended up picking up 4 blends from 52 teas:
-Banana Pudding Black Tea
-French Toast Black Tea
-S’mores Genmaicha
-Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Honeybush
Hope they are good!

Add to that my first ever Butiki order consisting of:
-Cantaloupe and Cream
-Pistachio Ice Cream
-Pumpkin Milkshake
-Caramel Vanilla Assam
-Irish Cream Cheesecake
-Vanilla Frosted Carrot Cake
-Coconut Cream Pie Rooibos
-Peppermint Patty
-Plum Pudding
and for my $20 worth of tea I asked for Root Beer Float, Almond Indulgence, Pumpkin Creme Brulee, and Pineapple Oolong

Then I placed my first order from Herbal Infusions in which I got some samples and 50 g of the Cacao Tea.

Finally I placed my first Della Terra order. I got 3 Try Me Samplers (and a 4th free!! YAY!!), and larger amounts of Carrot Cake, Eight Candles, Lime Chiffon, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, and S’mores.

I got a lot of teas I never tried before so hopefully I am happy with what I got.

ETA: Just made my first non-tea Black Friday purchase! Bought a pair of Roots sweatpants to give to my roommate as a Christmas present!

Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake is really good, one of my favs from them! I’m tempted to order an extra, but I’m sticking to my Black friday plan.

Lariel select said

I just ordered some of the Peanut Butter one, it’s really good.
